This is/was our beloved Basset who we had from 6 months old till she peacefully passed away at the grand old age of 15.
We had 4 dogs - 2 Rhodesian Ridgebacks and a bit of a 'Heinz 57' in a Cocker Spaniel/Parsons Terrior cross. She was unique amongst these dogs - even the larger Ridgebacks.
And she was her own dog - she did what she wanted to do and we let her do it. Such a lovely pet and will be sadly missed.

Acer, hasn't been in the ring often because of COVID-19 restrictions. These are the comments the judges he has been under have made, A lovely hound, full of quality, with excellent skeletal construction, good length of upper arm and well ballanced. Well muscled hindquarters with good drive. Excellent top line. Love hie head. - Over all a lovely hound.

Sorry to share that Elvis Presley the voice of Forest died in November 2014. He got ill of bloat, and it was not possible to save him. He lived nearly 24 hours afther surgery. So sad for his owner Sabrina and Henning. He died on there anniveseryday and mowing day from the farm Elvis loved to live on. Sad for us too, we use to look afther him on hollydays and so on. We do miss him a lot. Lovley basset he was.

Fred was the only name I ever called him. His papers stated he was known as Mettovilles Elver from the breeding farm that he was rescued from. Beagles and More was the group I adopted him from. He was a great and loving dog for the 2+ years he was with me. He just wanted to be loved and have someone loe him. His favorite treats were chicken chews and chicken biscuits. He will be missed forever until I see him again in heaven. RIP Freddie.

"Ace Man's" (as we called him) show career did him proud and he gave us so much pleasure.
 

Many times the Judge would say "I will have the Happy Basset" as Ace was always wagging his tail.
He loved life and the show ring.

Multiple Exhibit in Show at All breeds Champ Shows - the most memorable of which was winning Best Exhibit in Show at the Heidelberg Champ Show in 1994 with an entry of 1800 exhibit under Mr G. Head whom had just returned from judging Best in Show at Craffs in England. We were soooo proud of him.

His other wins included:

• BIS BHC of Vic 1991
• BIS BHC of Sth Aust. 1994
• Best of Breed Melbourne Royal 1991
• Best of Breed Sydney Royal 1993
• Top Basset Dog BHC Vic Point Score 1995/96

Best Veteran in show BHC of Vic. the Hound Club of Vic as well as many other All breeds Shows - the most memorable was at Sunbury when he was 10 years old.

He protegee include a total of 8 champions from 4 litters. 2 of these Champions were BIS winners at specialty shows.
 

Amathest "Amulet" was our first home bread champion, She was a wonderful pet and show lady, winning a 25 pt challange at the Melbourne Royal and Challange Bitch at the Basset Hound Club of SA.
