As i said last year there was gunfire twice for each dog, once when heeling and once on the long down whist the other party was doing there bit, This is in Belgium.
Tomorrow Gina takes her BH so we will see if they have changed it in Belgium. For me it is of little consequence if there is or is not gunfire the Dog takes no notice anyway plus the damn trains whistling by 10 yards from where the dog does the long down is much louder you cannot here anyone speak they are that close to the work field as they come though. Any Dog with any nerves at all will not stand the noise you will get at least 3 trains and transport carriages go through on just one person doing the BH. Lucky the Judge does not have to speak to the competitor you would not here him speak 3 yards away, It should be interesting to see what happens.

Is this the kind of canine superiority you speak of?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMbpPDnAfc0 I can only hope I can teach my dogs to move like that, such grace, such power in the movement, such agility and coordination. A far superior animal to anything I could ever hope to step on the field with. Thanks for your input, it was certainly a waste of energy and must have been very difficult for you.

Sure just to prove you right the other 16 month BH dog was also a SchH dog as well, There was no Dummy dog being used there were 6 BH dogs doing there bit.
Tomorrow a dummy dog will be used as there is not even numbers
And just for you even if they use a dummy ScH dog they would not fire a gun if it was not needed in a BH, and if the rules are changed from last year over here it would not be right to fire a gun for one dog who is one of a pair and not even competing and the other BH dogs not get gun fire.
OH' and for your information over here they would never use a raw BH Dog to pair up to a SchH dog that was competing in a trial, The BH dog is too inexperinced for that and the chance of the BH dog making a mistake whist the experinced dog was working for a greater time than it takes for a BH would not be taken in a trial over here another SchH Dog would be used as a Dummy but then It is only little Belgium i am talking about we are kind of backward over here in the SchH world.

Hey Guy,s:
If we spent as much time concerned about the well being and workability of our preferred breed there would be no issue.
Yes, the Mali has come into it,s own it seems so a big congratulations to the breed and traininers I for one will take nothing from them they are a fine working breed. My only concern is the old saying "What win,s on Sunday Sell,s on Monday" It,s a old car sales adage but can ring true here also.
The Working/Show line split in the GSD is a Greed designed failure of the breed guardian the S.V. No one here in there right mind will claim that the dogs that stand out in the Show Ring are a true example of the GSD working dog that is where the rub is. Any organization that exalts this type of dog as it,s pinochle just show,s it,s inability to lead the masses that support it.
In the same breath any one who claims to know and enjoy working dog,s would(for no other reason then argument) would claim these same dog,s are the the best the breed has to offer.
Again I congratulate the winners of the FCI and all it,s competitors to a job well done.
