Skippy ,would you be so kind as to give an example of a days feeding(complete, all in-supplements etc).I have fed raw in the past but was made aware of some terrible medical risks and got worried so i went back to a quality kibble.I am now wondering if a BALANCED raw diet would be better after all.

MY dog is VERY picky, he will eat a egg, but leaves the shell.

actually most of my dogs leave the shell behind as well - some eat it, some don't.  When I know which dogs won't eat the shell, I leave the shell out and give it (crushed) back to my chickens - great for them.

Skippy

"Vikram You should not feed raw and Kibble together the digestion times are totally different,"

I have been feeding a mix of kibble and raw for months with no ill effects.

Sometimes a raw meal, sometimes a kibble mean and sometimes *Gasp* raw and kibble all in the same bowl at the same time.

Could you please show me a link to real documentation that it's bad for our dogs to feed kibble and raw together?  Not a link to someone's website that says it, something scientific.

Thank you,
Barb

eggs are best if from the yard   like   called   yard eggs....store bought eggs are really not good for any of us....been arroung tto long and can you know for sure if they are fresh , of course not.....I buy brown , yard eggs, for me and the dogs...

To prevent bloat, green tripe is feed with kibble or without it....

Been feeding raw and kibble for years.....never saw any reason not to mix it.

I eat raw oysters, with crackers and hot sauce...never affected me , either..

Complete Foods do have everything in them!!!!!!!  The beaks, the claws, the hair, the collars tags, and anything else that is drug in and put in the pot...If anyone believes the marketing ploey to sell premiuim dry dog foods,   you need to research the enternet and read all the threads on this database from the last two years...

The only time you don't give a dog the whole egg is a puppy, if you are making your own formula for milk replacement....the egg white doesn't digest well, so you use only the yold(the Yellow) add white Karo, and 1/2 and 1/2 of evap goat milk and water....shake , and refrigerate. Use in entirety by 36 hours or discard.

eichenluft:  I too have laying hens and I used to give my dogs boiled eggs, without the shells.  I have recently started giving them raw eggs, without the shells, and I always give the shells back to the chickens, crushed of course, so that they do not learn to eat their own eggs.

My question:  Do you know of any reason to not give raw eggs, ie:  pregnant females, hot summer days, two or three day old eggs that have not been refrigerated, and finally, do you wash the shelled eggs before you give them, in an attempt to avoid any worms or chicken feces that might be there but not visible?  Thanks.
