i don't bathe my dogs either. if they've been tearing around thru the mud and muck and get REALLY bad, i might toss a bucket of lukewarm water on their belllies or down the legs, but i NEVER use shampoo or soap of any kind on them. for the most part, grooming consists of a rake to pull out loose undercoat or a soft bristle brush to clean the coat. yeah, my dogs smell like dogs......and i love it.

When mime get stinky they get bathed.....or they dont come in my house....the outside ones never get a bathe unless we are going on trip or to visit ....If it wasnt so cold tonight Rosie would be getting a bathe...she spent 24 hours at the vets office and pewwweeeee....so Ill brush her and use diapee wipes and the pet perfume that is oil you put on back of neck Baby powder smell.....
I use special shampoos that are not soap....based....
