She's a very pretty, feminine girl.  What's wrong with her ears?  I think they are really nice looking.

The are a little weak, and stick out to the sides too much instead of being parallel. Look at the puppy picture to see what I mean. Not a major fault: I wouldn't say her ears a 'friendly' (waving at everybody)!  And yes, she has grown into them a bit since that pic was taken!

As for the pigment, she is grey under her saddle, not black right down to the roots the way my male B&T is. I wish she had his pigment and ears, not to mention his hips, which are really good!  She has one white toenail, and her other nails could be darker.  She also has almost no black on her tail. I haven't had her hips x-rayed yet, but the number of 'fast normal' and 'noch zugelassen' ratings in her pedigree have me a little worried. But,  she has wonderful movement and reach, and her overall structure is pretty nice. And yes, I do like that high wither and gently sloping topline!

How can you be sure of getting a dog with really good pigment when choosing a puppy? Except for that bit of white on the one foot, and a patch on her chest, she was mostly black as a pup.

For comparison, here is a headshot of Ranger, showing a more ideal earset: His ears are fully erect even when he's relaxed. Hers are usually not.
