Oelmannsdorf

There are also some very nice (more affordable) kennels from AKC, sold at Tractor Supply and other places.  They are 6' tall and 5' x 10', for $299.  The welded-in wire has 2"x4'" openings like horse panel.  They are lighter weight but very sturdy, and easier to manage as each panel is 5' wide.  They clamp togehter, giving you greater flexibility in setting them up. Another added advantage with these is that you can buy the panel;s individually, and can therefore add 2 panels at a time to make the kennel bigger if you wish.

4' tall wouldn't even slow my girl down.  The dimensions are too small for thedog for any length of time.

No, don't cheap out, spend the money. Get the good stuff and you only spend the money once. i recently saw what Tractor supply had and for my GSD's I thought it was flimsy, no offense to TSC. It would not hold my dogs.

I have panel kennels 10x10x6 and panels can be bought separately.   one kennel about $230.00 .     you can add panels as you go.   They are light enough for two people to move.     Aluminum and chain link, lockable closer.    Shade covers are better home made out of CPVC and a tarp with straps.

Just an after thought, some of these are really cheaply made shop around, mine (frames) are welded not sections put together.

A top cover and sunsade is optimal. Dump the chain link though, it sucks.

I have had the worst experience with chain link...my gsds shred this like paper.

I had a 6ft kennel with a dogloo inside and a shade top strapped securely flush with top.  My girl learned to climb on dogloo, chew shade top and jump out!!!

Replaced the chainlink with welded wire (more expensive but definitely worth the piece of mind).  Options plus sells fibreglass tops for kennels..nice but also expensive.

I would think if you're leaving a dog the size of the german shepherd out all day (or a good portion of it) you would want to give them a little more room.  I wouldn't put a gsd in a kennel under the size of a 10x10x6.  Gives them room to move, get out of sun, room for doghouse and room to potty.
