who said anything about allergies by feeding a kibble with beet pulp in it, not me'

i said it was a cheap Filler and all the Guts is taken out at the refinery, leaving a waste product which is then put into Dog Food

I have seen Hundreds of Tons of Beet Rotting for months on a field two kms from my place before it is picked up, The Shell or what is left is what the Dogs etc get

My opinion and i will not feed my Dogs on a Kibble which contains beet pulp

if needs be i will have to go hungary myself to feed what i do, and that is Orijen, and if i cannot then the Dogs must go to someone who can afford the best kibble i think for My Dogs welfare

I would rather give the Dogs away if it meant i had to feed that rubbish to them in a Kibble

In my opinion it's OVERPRICED crap, just one step above Purina products with all the grains and fillers. Not enough real meat for dogs. It's just more fancy marketing to give ya the warm fuzzies with the kibble shape and dog specific formulas. I almost fell for it too after reading about some here that feed it...then I went to the store and read the bag, ingredients sucked. No way was a I paying that much for a bunch or fillers.

Steve I didn't said that you maid that statment. But there is a lot of people that always do bring that up, which is not supported by any research. You don't need to explain me about beet pulp :) I spend most of my life in europe, I seen it all around I even send few tons of it every year to a local sugar plant, I own a farm over there:). You should always try to feed the best food you can afford for your dog, but I do know from personal expierience that dogs are not picky eaters as many make it sound so, for god sake they can eat even their own sh*t,  they always find a way to survive and do fine. What I do I try to feed as much Raw as I can afford, everything else is suplemented by an average quality kibble, I do add yogurts, and veg from time to time, my dog are always healthy and with mimium vet visits (vaccines) I don't even vac them on regular basis, only mimimum required by a local law. So there is more than one way to get the job done. You wan't something that is 100% proven to work feed RAW. Other than that as long as you won't feed total garbage you fine.

I give you one more thing to think of:

One of my females eats only RC no sup, no nothing. Guess what healthy, beatiful skin, no alergies, no infections, a fire ball how do you explain that if RC is such a garbage? You don't, some things work, something don't its up to individual dog, always let your eyes be the judge. If somethign dose not work look for something else, I agree that Orijen might be solution for some dogs, but for some it won't work, so don't focus in on one food just let your eye be the judge.

Steve what did  you decide about your new pup? What are you gonna feed her are you starting her right away on Orijen? Or are you locking in on a lower protein count kibble? I was thinking about Orijen for my new female I decided that I will hold off and just add as much as I can RAW, I like the way she looks and no iritation, no infections so far. Keep me posted on your new pup I am surre y ou gong to have a lot of fun.

BTW I do agree that RC is overpriced :) that is why my new pup gets Vetschoice, I pay 40 for a 40lb bag and my dog looks good on it.

I am not a lover of RC but saying that i do not like some  other Kibbles at all just the same thats my way

Of course what suits some does not suit other Dogs

I remember well my first Pup, well not only mine but all us Kids at that time, i was about 10 years old

His Name was TIny' a bull terrier + Bull Dog

He was as gentle as a Lamb and used to pull us kids around harnessed to a make shift  Trolley  we made up out of Four old Pram wheels and axels nailed to a flat board

The Steering was a Loose Bolt through a Hole Drilled in the Piece of wood holding the front wheels on with turned over nails a piece of rope each side as steering

When the Dog was not pulling us we used to go down a steep hill flat out, Sometimes the Bolt would jump out of the steering leaving us without  front wheels, and  gravel rash in the tarmac

Dangerous, but kids never see it and  several patches up at the local hospital never stopped us

Back to Tiny'

He was fed on House Scraps from our dinner and meals, a bit of everything, being a big family we could not afford Dog Kibble but he never went hungary and always looked well and Fit

I have a Photo of my eldest sister holding him when he was nine weeks old but i do not know how to post it that was in ?

Hold on i am going to give my age away, but 'damn' who cares who knows that photo was taken of Pup TIny 59 years ago

It doesnt mater what you all think or want to believe. RC is crap compared to other kibbles and will always be a cheap, grainy bag of garbage! Check the ingredients list! Should cheap rice, beet pulp non human grade chicken be part of a canine's diet? NO! Oh and tigermouse, i love your display picture! ;)

I intended to feed her on 50% Orijen and 50% Solid Gold Puppy Kibble, but now they tell me the Solid Gold is no longer avaliable, so i have to find a comparable one to that if there is one i can buy over here

Later as she gets older i will go on to 100% Orijen i may do so as a Pup if i cannot find one to mix with it for a few months

The other one will not be RC though

Good luck Steve :) Don't worry I am not big supported of RC, to be honest I am not big supporter of any kind of feeding method. I belive it is important to balance your dog food I will continue to use as many raw ingridiants as I can, and suplement it with good quality kible maybe one day I even try ORIJEN :), but I let my eyes be the judge, as long as I don't have problem with my dogs I have no need to change. But till then Vetschoice and RC it is :)

BTW in NEW ENGLAND I found quite bit of breeders and dog people use RC with good success :), I used RC only because it came with my last female :) so I can attest to the fact that my dog did great on that food. My new pup came with VC and so far she is doing great on that food as well, I hate changing so I stay with the food unless there is a good enough reason for me to change over. :)

Steve any new pics? I need to update my females pics but no time busy training :)

Best of luck with your pup.   Like you I thought that Orijen had too much protein for a young pup.  What I fed my pup when I got her was Urban Wolf it's a Canadian food don't know if you can get it over there.  www.urbanwolf.cc. Just add meat and a fish oil. I fed that to her till 5 months then switched to Orijen at 6 months with raw meat and supplement it with Canine Complete since I got the pup.   I have had outstanding results with this pup and my year and a half old male who was on the exact same diet.  People can't believe how good my dog's look.  Even the vet commented on it and said what do you feed your dog?  I told her it wasn't Science Diet!!!  That is what a lot of the vets are selling over here.
