Near the end of September, I moved to Northern Ontario, from the sunny south. It's snowed here nearly every day since the last week of November.

Here are some pictures for your enjoyment. The first few show the view from my windows.

Thank goodness I put in a 4' high dog fence, or they'd just about be able to step over it by now!

Your dog looks to be having a grand old time out there. Isn't it funny how SNOW really cheers you up ,"in the beginning" of winter. Than comes Feb. and March and you have had more than enough!

OT- how long does everyone let their dogs play in the snow before you get concerned about their paws. We've only had a few small snowfalls here but my little guys loves to play in it, and he'll go for hours. He has boots but how long without them? Karen

Some winter fun indeed and just as well as the dog is familiar in his back yard.

My first reaction was positively fun to watch, however there was a moment the dog kinda dissappeared for awhile and reimmerged later in the scene.

I would not encourage fun games where there is a possibility of danger where I could not reach the dog.  Jumping can be exhausting and if the dog is tired and slightly disorientated and there is a pile of snow way over his head,  I would be very concerned if the dog hears my call but do not necessarily know where is coming from.

I hope I am not trying to dampen the festive mood, just a thought for dogs jumping in deep snow.

I didn't want to spoil the mood here, but I remember reading a newspaper article in the Toronto Star, about a lady who took her yellow lab down to the beach after a heavy snowfall.  The dog was having a great time, blasting through the drifts, until he ran through one with a rock hidden in it. Broke his neck, broke his owner's heart.

So, a word of caution, if your dog likes to do this...
