Sunsilver

I know HOW they do it. I wonder WHY they do it.

This dog has been entered by the same person for example.
What's the need...

or this

2 times Xray and Xray2 (same dog) Xapp and Xappi -same dog, Xork and Xorks -the same dog.

They dog should be registered only once, with his CORRECT name....

iT  MAY BE AN HONEST MISTAKE     REMEMBER IF YOU GET IT ON LINE  YOU CANNOT DELETE IT  OR YOU USE TO NOT BE ABLE TO.....
OLI MAY HAVE CHANGED THAT ,,,i DO NOT KNOW.....BUT I HAVE ONE OF MINE TWICE...BECAUSE SOME ONE ELSE TRIED TO STEAL  AND REGISTER A DOG NOT EVEN BORN TO MY TWO AND I HAD TO ACTUALLY GO IN AND MESS IT UP TO GET OLI TO DELETE. IT....
ONCE I WAS TYPED., YOU CANNOT GET IT OFF..     DON;T KNOW NOW....

I think some people cannot fill out info becuase they simply do not have akc registration.  If you have CKC (Conntinental)  it is much more difficult to figure out your lines and generations.  I know because I have 1 CKC dog.  The only reason I was able to figure it out was that he had akc everywhere but his mother and grandmother.  The owner just neglected to register the grand dam but still bred her.  People arent necessarily stupid Moons.  Not everyone is really interenet savvy and this does take some getting used too.

The way the database is set up if I list a dog here, and put in the info for  his parents, it will come up as UNKNOWN unless each of those parents were also listed.  So to get a 3 generation pedigree folks have to list 15 dogs all separately.  And if they make a spelling error (Listing Von instead of Vom for example) then it won't link up.  For those with dogs whose lines are already on the data base it's not an issue... but most newbies don't know how the links work.  I know one of my dogs was listed with an "S" after the kennel name one place and 's another and he is now on it twice.  Maybe there needs to be a "MERGE" pedigree option?? as some of his progeny is listed under one name and some under the other.... gets very hard when people are trying to put in their dogs
