"I think that you must make a trip to America in person with proof, and go to the police in person, bring his papers and show them. "

Police usually don't get involved in civil disputes over property.  The OP already stated that she is in litigation to get her dog back, which is the proper approach.

I know Yvonne very well and I know how much she is attached to Ilay. So please if there is anyone close to where
this  MARY GATTONE lives, and can help in any way please send a PM to Yvonne. Distance can be a really big problem in cases like these, especially when there is not a lot of cash available. People living in the states should have some idea as to how we can get Ilay back via the legal route. So please if anyone has any ideas do send your suggestions to Ivonne.

Wow, this is bad.  Besides being a top notch European breeder, Yvonne is one of the nicest ladies I have met in the dog world.  I actually overheard her talking to a breeder once stating how she would have no problem sending her best dogs to the US when most European breeders wouldn’t.  This conversation was a memory that stuck in my mind too as it really made an impression on me about her true character.  What a horrible thing to happen to such a great and honest person.  I hope and pray the powers that be will return Ilay, a top dog in the world, to Yvonne.  But regardless, the damage is done, another American breeder destroying European confidence.  What total embarrassment and shame we should all be feeling on this side of the pond.

Mary Gattone, anyone familiar with Ilay knows he is not your dog under ANY circumstance so I hope you realize soon the scope of your indiscretion and return Ilay immediately to his rightful owner.  For everyone’s sake that is.

After doing a little research I found this:

Wow,
it proves yet again, when greed & dishonesty takes over, someone has to suffer, so sad.
The really sad part about this is, a conformation judge within the AKC seems to be deeply in this, what a shame. Hard to understand that the AKC does not get on her toes, I guess it goes, oh, this is a private matter between these 2 partys, nothing we should get involved with ! Whilst they are probably wright, it seems at first glance to be a private matter, but if AKC would take a closer look, it does damage the reputation of the AKC to a great deal. Hard to understand why they do not try to fend this off and to not hold their own judges to an higher standart.
Yvonne, I tuely hope you get your dog back, I will also see what my friends in GA have to say. As soon as I find something out, I will PM you.
All the best

Yvonne, I saw Ilay and the pups recently. They look well.

I know this does not help your situation and I don't want to interject myself into a dispute, just thought you might like to know.

Hope all works out well for all concerned, especially the dogs.

Rik
