I don't feed supplemental vitamens or other preparations unless I am conditioning the dog for particularly strenuous training, potentially debilitating stress (pregnancy/travel/health issue) or the show ring. I feed my puppies quality dogfood, Royal Canin or Eukanuba, 30-32% protein (I don't buy that "large breeds shouldn't have so much protein" crap the dogfood manufacturers try to hand us) throw an occassional egg in (whole) as a treat. When my pups are teething, I have the butcher freeze tripe in loaf pans & slice it into hamburger pattie size portions: "Tripe-sickles" to soothe painful gums.
My show conditioning diet is a WHOLE 'NOTHER MATTER... but I don't divulge all the details to ANYONE ;)
