MVF, "This is a baby, not a prisoner" Why did I know that someone would respond this way? Seems like someone always wants to take things to the next level. You do it your way and I will do it my way. We can let bmexline decide what she wants to do. As far as it being a young pup I am not without a brain. I am not advacating this dog go hungry for long periods of time. I would think that a little common sense would go a little ways. There needs to be a balance here as with anything. Kibble is hard, a little worm water mixed in it helps but then that has all ready been mentioned. bmexline, there is always a balancing act between feeding the dog a diet that will be good for them and at the same time doing what you can to teach good eating habits to your dog. Obviously you have to be sensitive to it being a puppy and I am assuming that the pup will continue to eat his dry food. If you do not mind a picky, finicky eater then go for it. MVF has good ideas on how to dress up his food. But as I said before, any one with a brain can figure out how to get him to eat. The key for me has always been whats best for the dog, and to me this is looking at the big picture down the road. Personally I like a dog that eats well regardless if I put goodies in his food or not. Infact, when my dogs start getting picky cause I am dressing up their food every day, I go back to just dry for a day or two just to get them remembering that they are infact animals, and should eat like they know that. But I am sure someone will say, wow, he sure is mean to his dogs. Guess what, I have even fasted them for a day as adults. Common sense.

Nobody said for her or him ? to feed dry reread the thread MVP I said use warm water and add yogurt and raw liver.....how cruel is that....sure feed the dog no one meant not to but you got to get it to that point first.....canned dog food , milk and gravy is not good for any dogs intestional tract... No one here, meant to starve the dog ,,,,use the right things to entice the dog.....start right so you dont spend days trying to correct..if a dog is gonna be fed all raw,,,might solve this problem...no kibble...just give it raw chicken , raw liver, raw heart , with all the bones...and mix the raw diet that can be found on the google...site Barf diet....another choice.... Nothing wrong with adding a little , chicken, a little liver or things you can continue the rest of its life but not all at once....just to make it eat....it will eat....I dont believe in starving a pup,,but you dont cram it full the first two weeks of new things add one at a time or you will have diahrea and not know what caused it.

MVF, I wanted to respond to your email, but to be honest I am too pissed off and I do not want to get into a debate with PETA mentality. You referred to us that do not pamper as " meanies". Well, the dog world actually survived years of diets much worse then todays high quality Kibble, and often with less. I am going to shut up now cause I am in a mood to take you to task on this issue and it is not in the best interrest of this board. Just give some thought to calling people "meanies" or anything else when you know nothing about them. Trust me, I love my animals and they always get the best of care and I would go without myself IF I believed it was in the best interrest of the dog. Trust me on this, I will school you on Love as well.
