Hi Burgdorf,
My first advice is to grow a very thick skin when asking for input on the database. You will recieve input from every angle.
Your DDR and your showline are so different in structure I dont think you will improve anything there, as far as drive 's and working abilities, that depends on your dogs. You will have to see how they progress as you train. If you like his drive and workability then you decide.
I would like to see how your summer DDR breeding turns out. I think that is a good mix for sure. You have plenty of time to think about your male and his future.
Hope we dont get all this snow!!
Later....:)

we did it with gr8 succses all our pups out a litter of nine were fantastic, but it depends on temperament we mainly placed our pups into working pet homes with gr8 results . again it has an auwfull lot to do with selective breeding dont just go for a gud lookin lad make darn shure that he compliments your bitch
my mistake was i was over cautious placing them idealy i wanted working homes for all of them. even after i had volhard tested all of them with gud results
lookin back i have no regrets and i wish you all the best

Id have to say that the hardcore showline people would turn up their noses as well as the hardcore workingline folk...BUT you may find some that are on the fence. Here's my work/show cross bitch, I personally have not seen many other crosses that are as attractive as her, although that dog Louise posted is pretty handsome.

as far as drive etc goes it dose have a little bit to do with training!!!
i have trained showdogs to work and working dogs to be companion dogs. shouldnt we be thinking about what benefits an outcross will have .
provided that the dogs have gud temperamens and are healthy dose it matter????
