Quote David Payne: "Your credibility is approaching zero."

Very funny how people questioning my credibility always (rather sooner than later) confirm all of my theses,
even as I speak (write) in the same thread.

Thank you David for confirming (amongst other things) the SV has let the GSD grow way too big!

I don't think anything about me is legendary, no,
but your bullying is!
Behave and admit the SV has done a shi* job when it comes to a healthy dog!
And when Pedigree Dogs Exposed shows the magnitude of the destruction, you are blind to the facts.

The movie showed the weak hocks (of the GSD), remember?
What was the most used word at the Siegerschau 2010?
LOOSE HOCKS!!!

"The movie showed the weak hocks of (of the GSD) remember?"
NO! ..... THAT movie showed a very Small clip of (questionable) 2/3 gsd, hardly enough to tar ALL GSD. Like the makers of THAT programme you Jantie appear to delight in sensationalism!!!!

It's sad what judges and breeders have done to dogs in general. Instead of following the original standards. It's sad what animals must endure at the mercy of mans ego.

by bazza on 20 September 2010 - 07:09

To be fair..... SOME  breeders and SOME judges, most definately not all!!

Jantie: My bullying is an allegation frequently made by those who find it extremely difficult to challenge my assertions. Bullying is the cry from those who expect meek agreement to whatever nonsense they write on here. It may also emanate because they do not expect strong criticism from a well known person who can use strong language.

I am a scouser (born & bred in Liverpool). We naturally behave in a very confident and  assertive manner and use strong language to emphasise our assertions. I make no apology for that, and if some consider it bullying, that is their problem NOT mine.

The SV are far from perfect, and anyone who reads my "IMPRESSIONS" will know that I criticise them assertively. However they are recognising faults that arise and always have done, not as quickly as we would all like them to, but they have a history of collective regulations and policies targeted at the health and welfare of our breed, both physical and mental.

The issue of size and loose hocks is at the forefront of their current attention, triggered by a speech at the 2009 Sieger Show by Reinhardt Meyer, and followed up by many more speeched around Germany the following year, and long and comprehensive Articles on these subjects in the Zeitung. These where unfortunately only in German. I have requested repeatedly to have these article for my website, with me paying the hundreds of GBP for professional interpretation, remembering that people who read such articles on my website can do so in 20 different languages. Reinhardt Meyer has so far ignored my requests.

Jantie, I have obviously given you more credit for intelligence and research into subject matter than you deserve. I regret that, I also regret that you appear incapable of changing and becoming an excellent source of constructive pressure upon the SV to make improvements. All organisations need such pressure, unfortunately there are too few people willing to put their heads above the parapet, and with the intelligence to be genuinely effective.

Bazza is spot on, Jantie you delight in sensationalism, just like the makers of "Pedigree Dogs Exposed"

Sensationalism?

I had written this years ago:

“Now it made me think of the cyclists in the Tour de France. For multiple years, they just doped away. Journalists challenging this Holy Tour Institution and asking tough questions, were haunted. They were accused of lying, didn’t have proof, didn’t know what they were talking about, were chased from the press conference, threatened with law suits.
You might have followed the debacle last year, after the revelations made in former Telekom soigneur Jef d'Hont's book?
A tearful Erik Zabel appeared at the T-Mobile press conference along with former teammate Rolf Aldag to confess to using the banned blood booster EPO while riding for the Team Telekom in the 1990s.
Aldag confessed to a longer history of doping. He started with EPO before the 1995 Tour de France, and he said that continued with it.
Following the confession by colleague Andreas Schmid, Doctor Lothar Heinrich has admitted his involvement in doping riders of the former Telekom squad. The German had been working as a sports doctor in the team's current incarnation, T-Mobile, up until May 3, when he was suspended from service by T-Mobile Team Manager Bob Stapleton
Later, a Tour de France winner Bjarne Riis admitted that he took EPO, human growth hormone, and cortisone when he won the Tour de France title in 1996. In those days, however, he said it was part of the game, and that he didn't have a choice.
Following a confession last month by 1997 Tour winner Bjarne Riis that he used the banned blood booster EPO (erythropoietin) during his career, Germany's former Paris-Nice winner Jorg Jaksche alleged last week that he was encouraged to dope by the managers of his former teams.

All of a sudden, everything came to the surface, or shall we say, everything collapsed. What had been lies for many years (sensationalism?), apparently was the truth indeed, and the evil had spread wide out. It was raining confessions. Let history take its course.”

I’d wish to add this today:
Same story with the paedophiles in the Catholic Church today. Anybody dared to mention the subject was accused of sensationalism. Today we know, the church does have a huge problem indeed and what people first said was merely the top of the iceberg. (Watch the News if you please.)

In accordance with the above, anybody accusing the makers of Pedigree Dogs Exposed (PDE) of sensationalism turns a blind eye to the problems. The documentary was an eye-opener and could only show an overall view on the massive problems of pedigree dogs. But they have raised awareness all right. (Understatement!)
The ones challenging the makers of the movie most are the ones who are best placed to admit the problems, the insiders (and don’t get me wrong now, they are very much aware of the problems!), but they go by the philosophy: offense is the best defence, instead of challenging the problems in their respective clubs (by making an assessment of the health/sickness of the breed, enforcing a Zuchtwert System worthy of the name, breeding with HD1-dogs from healthy families, reducing amount of stud jobs per stud, reducing the number of litters per year, reducing inlinebreeding thus enforcing more stringent breeding regulations and making sure GSD-breeding remains hobby-breeding as opposed to Big Business, choosing judges by lot instead of allowing politics (collegue-judges and collegue-breeders deviding top-placings, etc., etc.)
We will all witness where it will end!

Due to its own deficient (lacking) law regulations, the SV kennel club has not been capable of dismissing its own general breed warden, although the accusations against him as presented in the SV paperwork (available on the Internet) were severe to say the least. They have tried to flunk him, he was capable of withs

by Jantie on 20 September 2010 - 13:09

Sorry for that: Part 2.:

Due to its own deficient law regulations, the SV kennel club has not been capable of dismissing its own general breed warden, although the accusations against him as presented in the paperwork (available on the Internet) were severe to say the least. They have tried to flunk him, he was capable of withstanding the pressure of the other SV-kings and judged another three Sieger Shows (whilst none of the accusations defined in the Protocol of the Hammer Meeting have ever been proved wrong publicly yet). Business as usual? Well, I don’t think so. People have started to think. In the meantime Germany has watched its own PDE with the documentary: “Pflegefall Schäferhund!? Das Ende einer Legende”. Now this has had a huge impact on dog enthusiasts in the motherland, and people think twice when they’re about to decide which dog to take. So yes! Things are changing. And no: this is not sensationalism. Just an opinion whilst we are sharing our knowledge with one another.

BTW. It will take more than a couple of groupies to convince the international audience of how wrong PDE was!
The general public is very smart and senses very quickly who is defending a lost cause.

Bye!
