I belong to Breed clubs, and these breed clubs have standards for breeding which I follow. However, I don't impose these standards on others. If a person wants to breed mutt, that is none of my business. I may not agree with it, but it is not right for me to impose my standards on someone else. I will try an educate the logic behind the standards of the breed clubs of which I agree. My point is this: It is one thing to explain the importance breeding quality dogs, it is someting else to critize those that choose not to do so. We are always going to have Back yards breeders, they have a right to breed that way. I get tired of this uppity attitude towards breeding. I agree with the ideals of breeding quality dogs, but these standards are artificall. The breed standards are what we decide them to be. It is not like the GSD developed in the wild through selective breeding. I only find fault with members of a breed club that have agreed to certain breeding standards, and do not follow them. If a person doesn't belong to a breed club, then what do you expect? Who are you to ask if what titles, certifications, or pedigree a dog has?

Reed, or what ever your name is This thread is about stud fees. Why don’t you start your own topic and post your accomplishments. Unless of course you haven’t done anything. Back to the stud issue, there are guidelines and average prices that folks have offered in their replies. Your dog should have his working titles and hips certified before you do anything.

reed, no you could not kick my ass. if you could you would do so, and stop talking about it. have you ever seen a dog that barks and barks in the crate but when its time to trian there is silence? that reminds me of you. you bark and show your teeth but as soon as the crate door opens.... silence. I'm opening the crate and waiting to see if the almighty reed steps out. if you wanna kick my ass I've already told you when and where. but to attempt to kick my ass would require balls, effort, and the slight possibility of failure, all of which you no nothing about. Reed all you gotta do is show up and kick my ass. I can only imagine the posturing and barking that will follow this post but I know it won't be "ill be there"

We should all be very thoughtful and careful before we breed. In my opinion we in the GSD world have way too many breedings anyway and many of them are with inferior dogs. Many people think just because they paid alot for a pup out of highly titled parents that they should be able to breed it and produce quality pups; that may or may not be the case which is another reason you should never buy a pup with the intent of breeding it when it is old enough. Hope this helps you on your decision to breed or not.
