I travel cross country, 10 to 12 hour days on the road between california and tennessee and my dog has never had an accident in her crate. and noone on the task force has ever had an issue either. sounds like neglect to me!

Geez, harsh crowd today. A dog pees in the crate and some people are getting positively righteous. I better put my hard hat on for this thread!
Alrighty then, EchoMeadows, you asked for a poll so I'll oblige you... YES! I am guilty as charged. I have had a dog pee in the crate. Aieeee! Call the Humane Society!
I once had a pup that was a house training nightmare. I woke up every 2 hours at night to let him out to pee and he would still piss himself. I drive 2.5 hours each way to my SchH club and he once peed three times in his crate on the way up even though I walked and walked and walked the little rascal. His littermate, however, was the complete opposite. Never once peed in the crate.
Ahem... on a serious note, I don't think it's fair to blast somebody just because their dog peed in the crate. It's kinda harsh to assume complete incompetence or neglect over such limited data.
On the other hand, if anyone has some venom to unload this morning I would be happy to be your target! Ya gotta have thick skin to play in this sport. Fire away!

Oh, please. Statistically not EVERY dog can be a non-crate pisser. There's got to be the exception somewhere. I know most dogs will not but, lighten up guys, you kind of sound like the snotty mom's on the playground, "Well, my Johnny would NEVER sneak cookies". They're called "accidents" for a reason; no one plans for their dog to pee it's crate. And if this dog did and Egsd got this upset it's obviously not something he's accustomed to, though it does give "over reaction" a deeper meaning. (or else he's used to it and just wants a crate that's waterproof so he doesn't have to properly train his dog-in which case I totally retract all of the above. Though you have to admit it was a funny analogy!).
Egsd, quite whining. You had dog piss get on you're carpet. If the worst thing that happens in your life is you get piss on your carpet, you really got dealt a better hand than anyone I know. If you want total control of every issue in you're life-don't have animals, don't have kids, don't have company, don't have aquaintances, and don't go into public. Unless you lighten up you may find yourself as the guy walking down the road talking to himself while picking up Coke cans. Life is too damn short to get this torqued up over a little piss.

"allaboutthedawgs" I agree. People get so cranked up about the small stuff. Save it for when something important or critical to yours or your dogs' well-being steps in front of you.
Don't get an ulcer about pee in a crate, for heaven's sake. And I really do not believe people who say: "I've had gsd's for thirty years and have never had one pee in a crate..." LOL!
I had a dog get an ear torn almost off and it bled like a stuck pig. I threw him in my brand new expensive sports car and took him to the vet where it got stitched up right away. The ear healed and stood for the rest of his life, but I had to wash blood off the roof, the seats, the carpet. Worked on this for days. Now there's something to grouse about.
