One more thing for those that think less of the Czech dogs. I think some of the thinking is outdated. 10 to 12 years ago, all you heard was that Czech dogs were lacking in nerve and didn't have the "GRIPS". It was always out of the mouth of somebody that competed in sport at high levels. Today, I think that if you look at the last 10 years of the FCI or WUSV(which is a level playing field for factual comparison)I think collectively the Czech/Slovakia dogs have done as consistently as anybody in the world and certainly in the top 10 in the world.People are importing their dogs to their country and winning national events in that country. This is a country smaller than Penn. As for police using them because they are cheap, why would you continously use something that doesn't work. The only people I heard these comment out of are some of the older sport people that are holding on to the past. The police officers I talk to have never said "I'm putting up with this Czech dog because the dept. got him on the cheap!" On the contrary, these officers LOVE and TRUST these dogs. SOOOOO, why isn't the Czech dog a great working dog?

Gustav, GREAT post. I found myself nodding my head the whole time I read your post. I foget which major compitetion here in the USA it was but Mike Deihl won it with a Czech dog. I believe and I will have to check but 3 of the top 6 dogs at the same comp. were Czech. I have a 2.5 yr old Czech female that I do ScH and more real life training scenarios with and she is awesome. She always has huge full mouth "BITES", sorry the word "grip" is some politically correct BS that I refuse to bow to, and is willing to go into any situation that I have sent her in. There are about 6 different people in the Sch and PSA clubs that I train with that all have Czech dogs and they are all and I mean all strong of nerve with great bites.
