No, no tracking with a trainer yet but we have played tracking games since he was young.  I know he will pick it up though cuz I can't hide nothing from him, he even searches places you don't want him to

Got any tips for teaching him tracking?  I saw a bag of tracking items on the Dog Sport Gear site, but withheld my shopping hormones and abstained, I already had 2 items and was sticking to my limit...

I'm going to start putting treats in my footsteps and I am open to suggestions of other tracking games I could play with him.

I do know he is psyched about it all - at the second club meet we pulled up (with his new collar) and he started talking up a storm.  He strutted his butt right up to every tree on the way to his crate.  Trainer put his crate front row and center, Thor was being his obstinate self for the first 20 minutes and had his back to the field keeping his eyes on us instead, but the curiosity finally overcame him and he started watching the "games", we did have to overcome the separation issue (my bust  I've babied him too much).  By the end of the meet he was reacting to the trainers exercises 100%.  It was really funny cuz whenever the trainer tried something new with him he'd look back at me for my approval first then after a few times would just do it.

Here he is facing the field after his first exercise - I think he looks fairly full of himself

You could barely get him to stop watching the other dogs working after that
