Hey that looks just like Nenz's back! Exactly the same two spots and the same sizes. Vet saw him yesterday and put him on prednisone and hydro something. I already had hydrocortisone spray but this one has some kind of steroid in it too. He got outfitted with an E-collar as well. I took a picture of him with his lampshade and it's the wallpaper on my phone. He had this oh, poor me look on his face at the vet's. Poor baby.......

Yellowrose is right on...but sunsilver is going to freak out and say we are killing  our dogs...You can feed raw very cheap if your resourceful..money is no excuse! Lots of butchers will give you nutrious "scraps" for example.

Chaos's spots are looking great.  He is now leaving them alone so they must not burn and itch any more.  I felt sooooo bad for him.  I have changed his food to Californai Natural.  He's getting Fish Oil every day in his food, morning and night.  Vitamin E once a day.  Yogart and a egg with shell, both feedings.  Along with his antibiotics, it's clearing up nicely.  Now I have to wait for his hair to grow back to show the guy.  I'm hoping we will be able to enter a Nov. or maybe a Dec. show.  With all he is getting, his coat should look great, lol.

try a little olive oil, just rub it on your fingers and then on the spot, it has worked great for my dog

Shepherd Woman,   I agree most likely food bourne allergen...  We have GREAT luck with Betadine !!   Kills any bacteria, fungus, and itching,  Also dries it out so it's not so uuuuooocky.

Also if he seems really prone to this,  we had a rescue GSD that Was awrful,  looked alot like your pic only on her side.... We would bathe her once every couple of weeks adding Betadine to the shampoo,  It worked wonders !!

Just a couple things to keep in mind.

Best of Luck and hope you can enter that show !!

Ask your vet to give you Cipro 500mg and give twice daily along with the other topical applications you may be using. Bag Balm helps also.
