What age do male youngsters start to 'cock their leg'? - Page 4

I caught Ari lifting his leg over a ball another dog had been playing with when he was just 7 weeks old. Havn't seen him squat since.

Dewy on the other hand will lift his leg to mark, but if he really has to pee he squats.

Aws lifts his right leg and if he is going to be a while he'll rest his knee on what ever he is peeing on for balance.

We have a young male that started at about 4 months but never lifts his leg by an object where another male had marked.  He only lifts his leg in the open where a female has urinated.  He does has the decency to complely finish his business.  Even a bout a pano didn't stop him from trying to pee on two legs.  So funny.  Our older males almost never start lifting until well past a year. 

After reading through every post on this topic and getting down to the last couple, I found I started a smile and then I had to chuckle. It was just coming out naturally and I got to thinking Why? I think my thoughts progressed to thinking "what would our dogs do if they knew we discussed them in such a manner"  LOL I think one of mine would blush, one of mine would think we were all talking about her lol, one of mine would go out and try to lift a leg and see what all the "hoopla" was all about and one that would be sure to pee behind a tree from now on so I would never know!

It also makes me chuckle when on a walk with the hound, because I wonder if they ever look at us and think "Why on earth don't they ever have a pee? they're the stangest dogs I've ever met!"

Unless of course we're coming back from the pub, ahem...

I have seen my dog look at me while doing the deed seemingly to say mind your own damned business!

Oh look !  over there, a baby wolf.....LOL

My male is almost 17 months and lifts his leg but pees on his front legs, LOL
