Baldursmom

One thing we should remember is that this is not true "reality" so much is staged and they are coached to react certain ways to keep people interested.  I doubt she would even go along with getting the dogs at all if she really did not like them.  i also do not think they are dumb enough to keep pups on the carpet.  Pure idiocy!  Had to be some directors idea.

One thing about Kate, she sure had those 6 potty trained quickly.  I caught a few shows early in the series but do not watch it often, now I will have to see the puppies.

I am sure it will be Victoria on the scene soon to train the owners or they will make it a fiasco at a local training center dragging along all 8 kids!

The Duggers, what can anyone say about those people.  To each there own.  I worry when I see girls brought up to be housewifes, not that there is anything wrong with being one if that is your choice, I just think they should have a choice.  Those girls have no chance of higher education even if they wanted it.  It will be interesting to see if they have anymore.  Michelle is 42, not a good age to continue to have kids and expect them to be healthy.  I expect grandkids to come along soon.  They too are not doing badly, gave the newly weds a house.  Used car business too.

I watched the show last night. I DVR'd it. Love the show. All because it keeps me entertained, and makes me appreciate my life so much more. I dont think she is a bitch per say..I have some of the problems that she has in regards to OCD with clean, and germs. I got it just like she did after working in a hospital. There are diseases and bacteria that you have NO idea is out there..even in a regular world. MRSA, VRE, C-Diff... All real life stuff, and all coming to get worse. I take care of the house and I like things done in a certain way, and I see what she prefers. Should she be medicated? Probably. But I also know that the network will point out the things that hold the viewers attention, which is her OCD, and bitchieness...We all can sit here and critisize eachother when certain things are pointed out, and not others.

Dogs.. Well I cringed when I saw the GSDs that did not conform to the Better the Breed standard... but like everyone says..if there is a buyer..there will be a seller/breeder. Cant stop them. What this will do is INCREASE GSD backyard breeding and cause a bunch of problems like Snow dogs and huskies, 101 dalmations and ..dalmations.. and Marley and ME and labs now.. But again, what can you do. The show markets this breeder (who got a crap ton of FREE marketing..) telling these people that pick your puppy, AND ohhhhh GSDs are PERFECT for you!!!! Gaggggg.

It was amusing with the licking, and pooping and peeing and her reaction and she did tell them to not do that and she needs to be broken in slower. But again, she did mention that she didnt like them, and they stink and poop and pee everywhere, but she also said she loves them now, and that they DO need trained. I think we will see in the future some training involved  with them. She was truthful in her feelings, but she enjoys them. She also mentioned that the basement carpet is ruined and that it smells like dog pee in the basement..all with out really cringing at this point. She did better than me, when I moved into my boyfriends house (now husband) and he had an older dog that peed in 2 rooms (dinnind and living room) carpet..I removed the carpet..and killz the floor..we just have the killz on the dining room..soon to be tile there and living room to match the laminate everywhere else. I couldnt stand it. She will eventually change over..I guraentee it, but for now, for not having a dog, and cant stand the poop..lawl she is doing ok. They are about 6-7 weeks out once they tape the interview portion, and they told their ups and downs. I give them credit.

But I do hope they get help with training the dogs and get them fixed. Last thing they need are inbred GSDs. All we can do is hope that the kids can keep up with the size those dogs are going to get.

My step-son wants a GSD because he saw 2 on Hotel for Dogs. My daughter wants another because we had one before, and my husband wants a small ankle biter that I will trip over while I am pregnant with our 3rd. We turned down a pup GSD due to fearful behavior from mom... not from dad. I will happen, and breeders will supply.

*sigh*

I'd have to say having two kids myself....those pups could teach the kids responsibiltty. No?!
My daughter loves the show....

Did you guys watch the episode yesterday? I think she is going to get more than what she bargain for. I don't think she did enough research (she looked at a gsd magazine at a local petstore). I bet anyone that she isn't going to keep those pups long term. From looking at the tv it looks like a backyard breeder on a farm and american line gsd.?...am i right??
