I have rode Race horses Steeple Chasers for Years and to do well you have to have an affinity with Horses, and the same with Dogs and the pigeons you must think like them and you must look far deeper into them than just as a dog or horse, only then can you say you have a bond, The best example i have seen in a Sports Dog is the WUSV champion Ronny and his Dog Como, it is plain to see the Bond between them the Dog dotes on the man he cannot bear to be away from Ronny and it is always good to see this in an animal and Human so often is it the other way around, that is what i am doing at the moment with Puppy Hektor trying to create a bond between him and me that above all else at his age of nearly 3 months old until that really happens i will not bother much about anything else, we are on the same wave lengh but a little time to go yet,
The Eyes are the window to the soul of any living thing they tell you so much if you look deep enough.

Speaking of birds, you must be empathic with parrots as well. They are probably the most abused common pet species today, as the majority of owners don't know what they are getting into and don't how to properly provide for them. They are not low maintenance.

They are much more intelligent and need a closer bond than dogs and horses do. Owners don't know what they are getting themselves into most of the time. I've turned down a lot of people that think they want a parrot.

I really pity animals having to be at the mercy of humans...I can only hope a better day will come for these creatures...Yes, a better day will come..: )

Steve says, "The Eyes are the window to the soul of any living thing they tell you so much if you look deep enough.".....

Interesting thought Steve...I have noticed this in animals and humans that are dying...There is definitely something mysterious about the eyes of all creatures....

shadylady .. greetings !!  yes i am empathetic to birds too . they are magnificent creratures !! birds are not  as dim whitted as we once thought . research has shown many species oof birds are highly ,  highly Intelligent.  i think the book :  " Animals in Translation" should be read by everyone training their dogs , or birds !! You would be surprised by the commonality we have with many animals . i guarantee that you will never look at another animal in the same way again. i know you will be quite enlightened in animal communication at that too . Additionally , you will develop a profound connection with people that have autism !.

I firmly believe that to be correct, and all living things have a Soul, We all wonder why some Dog Handlers can get more from the Dogs than other people, and this i think is what i said above.
You have to have an affinity with animals and Birds as well as Humans and i myself can connect better with animals and Birds than i do with my fellow Humans sad as it may sound that is correct. With the Horses , Dogs and Pigeons i am a different person altogether than with my own kind,
Regards having a Soul twice in my life i have felt that going from a Human as it passed out of them or something did, Once when a Soldier mate of mine Died whist i held his Hand, the other time an dear old Friend a WW1 veteran died in Hospital when i again held his hand, Something passed out of those two people through me and gone, both times i went Ice Cold and Shivered as that something passed through my body a strange experience, but i was glad i was there for them at the end, I remember my old Dog Charlie 14.5 years old when he was put to sleep he was nearly unconscious but he knew i was there a wag of his tail and he looked right into my eyes then died, that day i cried like a baby.

Steve,  yes, the soul is a very peculiar thing...

My 13 year old Great Dane, Brandy, passed away a couple of weeks ago.... Brandy looked at me and my heart sunk. I knew by the look in her eyes her time had come...Brandy died that night....sigh...I was thankful she died quickly and peacefully. She lived a long, healthy and happy life....sigh...

If I look deep into the eyes of any of my 4 dogs I get lovingly slobbered on!
