This was really fun, of course other pets count!

ShepherdWoman, when I was growing up my next door neighbor had a sweet chihuahua named "Peanut" and a cat named "Pansy", just thought that was a cool coincidence!  Also ironically, our other neighbor's GSD, Shep (who was always chained in their back yard) got loose and killed Peanut.  Shep went away forever too.

Angusmon, I have a granddog named "Tala".  Not sure what she is, looks like a dingo, cool dog.  My daughter got her at a shelter.  I saw a program on "Carolina Dogs", supposed to be the decendants of the first domestic dogs and have dingo in their blood, crossed the land bridge into the New World way, way back.  Have a feeling that's what she is.

My mom tells me I began asking for a dog when I was 3.

I was 43 when I got Dante.  That was a long wait!!

Growing up I did have:
GoGo - Cat

Scamper - Cat

Blue - TB/Appy

Windy - Appy

Missy - Appy

Babe - Appy

Dandy - Appy

In my 20-40's I had:

Toffee - Cat

Caramel - Cat

All through my teens my folks said "You have horses and cats, you can't have a dog".  Hated it then, looking back, was probably for the best.

I'll take a shot at this, been putting it off cause it seems like it will be time consuming. I have had ALLOT of dogs in my time. I'm not going to give time lines or stories behind every dogs life or demise. Thats another thread in itself.

My 1st pet was a cat named Samantha, mom got her before I was born and she was killed by 2 GSD's that jumped our short garden fence out front at age 16.

Shotzie a Chihuahua mix if I recall right. She looked kinda like a min pin.

Brett and Brownie 2 Springer spaniels

Sterling an Ausie

The best dog I ever had, Lady a shelti/collie mix. I had her from my age 4-16. Went everywhere with me, knew everything I wanted her to do, trained to track, OB and bite, no formal training, just my kid talent. She even had a call off though. She knew hand signals and commands. Most of the time she didn't need to be told what to do. Just a real treasure to have in my life.

 Nanook tiny yellow lab bitch

Nishka (Niki) husky/GSD mix mom snuck home to replace Nanook when she died from seizures

Aisha's Coach Spotter my first AKC registered dog, a Dalmation..............................................................................................................................

This is when I go GSD and never go back

1st GSD pup Sausha, got through the gate and was hit by a car very young. Terrible things happened when I was at school or away from home. I was a Frosh in HS at the time.

Barron (Bear Bear) was suppossed to be a GSD pup but turned out to be a floppy eared mix , yet another outstanding pet.. She ended up being the dog I had when I had my daughter, was her first dog. We took her to Germany and back when we moved

Wrangler pure GSD show and working mix I believe, I didn't pay for papers. Bought in Germany when I lived there, looked just like your typical show line stud dog. Blk/red saddle. Beautiful dog but a total idiot.

Cody (Roo) You should have seen the ears on that dog! AKC GSD out of my best friends litter, super dog, fast agile, loved to fetch and wasn't affraid to do anything I asked of her

Buck replacement pup because boyfriend screwed up and left Cody out. I believe she was stolen. Anyway Buck was the softest puppy in the crappy litter of $50 shepherds my bf found close to us. His ears never went up and he had  decent sized white spot on his chest. I hated the dog but my daughter loved him like crazy.

Tricky Dick, Sable male I rescued from the animal shelter in Sacramento, just put him down Osteosarcoma

Baxter (Baxy) rescue from my year of working at a GSD rescue. Had to take at least one home. She became my daughters dog.

Baden 1st working line, bought intended to work. So far so good!

Many more dogs where part of my life through friends or family and others we took in but they left again. The dogs on this list are the ones I concidered family. Most of these dogs overlap and I have only been 1yr 3 months without a dog at home since birth. 1 dog I have found is never enough, 3 seems to be my sweet spot. I'm currently down to 2 and it feels weird.

Other species owned... Horses, rats, snakes, fish, rabbits, frogs, turttles, lizards, salamanders and God knows what else I have forgotten. My love of animals has passed on to my daughter and she keeps me in Zoo here. I have long since written of the horses and am sticking to dogs in my old age. 32 Ha Ha.
