BRADY BEE

Lol the clootie dumplin. It seemed to be on the cooker for days !!!!!!!! I hated the stuff, well that thick sort of coating round it lol . My mother used muslin, but  if not a pillowcase LOL Straight from the bed LOL Thats why I hated it. Should have a recipe somewhere though. The Cranachan is lovely and you can vary the amounts to suit your own taste. Like extra whisky maybe !!!!

Uh oh. I remember George Burns very well. I even remember Gracie.

If its Christmas, it has to be Prime Rib around here, served with roasted garlic mashed potatoes, milk gravy (with a touch of marsala) Yorkshire Pudding. roasted root vegies and the above-mentioned Caesar Salad, Apple Pie with sharp cheddar cheese melted on top for dessert. I'll bet I'm the only person in the world who makes apple pies with apples, raisens & pecans sauteed in butter and... fresh garlic.

I drank three shots of Yukon Jack at the lodge at the top of Squaw Valley once in the 80's. (about 8700' elevation) Normally a black diamond mogul-monster, I had to take the tram down the mountain because I couldn't get the key in the lock to free my Rossi's, let alone get them back on my boots. My friends on the ski patrol had a lot of great laughs at my expense the rest of the season after they carried me and my ski's to the tram and delivered me and my Bronco safely back to my ski house .

I haven't touched the stuff since.

AmbiiGsd--Glayva is very nice too!!!! I keep it in reserve incase I run out of Drambuie. I wouldn't know about the Drambuie being like pure sugar, because where I come from, it doesn't touch the sides, we just knock it back.LOL It's more like a "chaser" Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rum Truffles (This receipe goes back to my G Grandmother, if not earlier)

1oz Cocoa, 6oz Icing Sugar, 1.5oz Butter  1 level tablespoon Syrup, 1 tablespoon Milk, 1 tablespoon Rum

To coat:  Chocolate vermicelli or fine chocolate bits/curls etc.  Mini Paper cases to put them in.

Sift icing sugar and cocoa into a bowl.  Put all remaining ingredients into a heavy saucepan and stir until almost boiling.  Pour into icing sugar mixture and stir until smooth.  Leave till cold, beat well until creamy.  Leave in a cold place to harden.  Roll into balls and cover in chocolate vermicelli.

These make great gifts and my kids make them for their teachers every year and we've yet to have a complaint :-))

To be honest I always double the mix - this amount just doesnt last long enough!
