David this is not about working and showing. This is about people that disagree finding their way to do what they believe is the right thing to do.

And since you obviously can’t think of anything in history to support your view, I will write about something to support mine. At one time the GSD allowed all colors and coats types. When the SV decided that white dogs were no longer allowed the people that fancied that type made their own clubs to support the type that they liked. The SV solved their problem and the new clubs were happy enjoying the types of dogs that they liked. And today the SV is still around. No harm was done; only more people enjoying the type of dog they like. What a happy ending, don’t you think?

Chris: You clearly don't grasp all the issues. Your selectivity of an issue raised by your sycophant OGBS is revealing. Your limits are exposed, I have no inclination to engage in petty exchanges. Your level of dialogue is now well established, and of no further interest to me. I feel sure those of a similar mind set to yourself will join you here shortly, so there is no need to even begin to think about raising your outlook of our breed. Perhaps the best I can hope for is that you decide to become totally immersed with Malinois, sooner rather than later.

Okay, now I really must ask:   Christopher!  Who's your  daddy?

by Christopher Smith on 01 April 2009 - 00:04

Just some guy my mom used to sleep with.

My dear Pat please look at the posts on this very forum and you will find that there were quiet a few snyde remarks made on Raiser there were assumptions and presumtions made as to whether he could sustain and overall ger proper registration for his fledgling club. He has persevered over this period and finally established himself.

The FCI should recognize more such clubs and only then will the dog game move in the right direction, only with competition. It is very true about the amount of health related problems that the GSD as a breed encounters, have first hand results as 90% of all GSD imports into India have health issues especially Hip & Elbow problems now your western countries wouldn't face these problems since you have  tests that can determine these problems. In India we do not have these tests hence even dogs with severe HD& Ed are being shown and through certain covert means these dogs win, are bred regularly.

The health issues that Raiser had pin pointed are real and unless the SV relates to this issue and rectifies past errors can this breed move in the right directions. This is the precise reason many GSD people are favouring Raiser.

i cant stand it any more.

someone said this is not about show vs. work.    are you kidding me?  that is the heart of the matter.  dogs overbreed for looks and lacking in working ability.  dogs overbreed for working with the correct conformation to allow them to work all day.

i believe gustav had the best scene when he described what has happened here in the USA with USCA and the GSDCA.
why did the gsdca change its way?  because there was no way in hell they could make a world team with the dogs that did great in the show ring, but couldnt work a lick.  lets not forget the gsdca connection to AKC.

did everyone miss mystere's statement.      What is being discussed here is the "dethroned" SV Nationall Breed Warden, who could not get the SV to move in a direction more valuing of health/nerve/working ability over cosmetics and money,

oh well, another subject lost on narrowmindedness, onesidedness, and complete lack of understanding what a ulitarian dog is.

John: A very selective memory, and presumptions, do not convince.

Already 2003 something similar was formed in sweden, a club/organization for those breederse that want to put health and workingability first, that feelt it was hard to make their vocies heard in the breedclub that is more intressted in shows and ribbons, about 50 breeders are members in that organization I believe.  But what will tgis new RSV 2000 do different compared to SV, are they going to have different way of testing the dogs? Read something about tets for younger dogs on their website, sounded a bit similar like the swedish testsystem that I know Raiser have been looking at.

With all due respect, I ,and many others feel that Sweden has been ahead of the curve of health and working issues for this beloved breed for the past twenty five years. they have gathered empirical evidence on these fronts through research and testing. To hear that this organization is going to consult with them either formally or informally is refreshing because the Swedes seem to deal less with opinion and more with empirical evidence....I applaud that!
