Hodie,

What was anti semitic about my post?
Its documented history of Haiti...

If you want me to discuss the owners of the IMF World Bank, Id be happy to, but I never touched that topic.
Youre Anti Gentile for trying to insinuate my facts, which excluded anything Jewish, are irrelevant.

Your comment was worse than Ben Stein calling Ron Paul 'Anti Semitic' for denouncing our  hopeless Occupations in the Middle East, on Lies.

Haiti is a sad case...has been for centuries.
Bankers and political leaders have enslaved that nation, the poorest in the Western Hemisphere.

Littlenipper, I almost cried when I read your post. Please pm me. If your son is sending his money to aid Haiti, I'd like to send him a Toys R Us gift certificate for his Legos. Remember that we can donate to the Red Cross via the text message functons on our cells. Couldn't be easier than that. :-)

In these trying economic times one must be a better steward of the money they give away1 I am not advocating anyone to not donate money to the relief effort in haiti! Haiti has been the reciepant of massive amounts of releif aid for many many years1 much of that money has not been directed to those in need but siphoned off by political theifs and thugs! When and if you give give to an agency that you trust ! We do not need another somalia where all our donated goods winds up in the hands of a few crooks and warlord cheifs ! So give wisely please!

To donate to the Red Cross via text on your cell phone, simply type Haiti in the body of the text and send to 90999. You will receive a confirmation request text asking that you reply "Yes." When this is done, you have donated $10 to the Red Cross for relief in Haiti. There is a $30 limit.

This thread is NOT about what has or has not happened in Haiti historically. And, for what it is worth, there have been many, many positive changes in the last several years. Sadly, much of what has been accomplished will be a challenge now to reinstate or reinstitute, but it will happen.

This thread is about helping people in dire need of assistance. That help will not only be required for the next few days or weeks, but for months and years. The critical thing needed immediately is money to support all the many organizations who have already had a presence there and are helping in the immediate aftermath of the quake. People will decide how and  to whom to give their donations. And Haiti will not ever be another Somalia.

Well go back ten years and COUNT THE AMOUNT OF FINANCIAL AID HAITI HAS GOTTEN!I  Haiti has been the poorest county in the west but the dominican republic is far better off so why is that! Perhaps Hodie you could elobarate why Haiti is such a poor country compared to the DR When people become so dependant upon welfare they have no desire to improve the station in life they have! Hait is a perfect example of that syndrome!  Hait has recieved multiple billions in foriegn aid from govt and from church groups for many many years! Why do thing remain the same????? But you see in all actuality this thread is ABOUT WHAT HAS AND WILL HAPPEN IN  HAITI!   Perhaps the earthquake was providence in disquise! It most certainly will resolve the building code disaster  that has been Haiti for decades1 It also will resolve the terrible issue of a presidential palace larger than the white house! And Yes Hait is in a lot of ways similar to somalia. billions of aid HAVE BEEN SIPHONED OFF INO THE HANDS OF POLITICAL CROOKS AND THIEFS IN THAT COUNTRY! THAT IS JUST A FACT WELL KNOWN!  By far the largest contributers to Haitian relief has been private church led organizations and not  govtmental agencies! So give but be cautious in whom you give to1 the united nations is well known for diverting emergency funds!

"When people become so dependant upon welfare they have no desire to improve the station in life they have! Hait is a perfect example of that syndrome!"

So you've jumped from corrupt officials stealing the aid provided to stating that now the people of Haiti are "so dependant upon welfare" - which according to you they never even got! - that "they have no desire to improve."  How ignorant.

by hodie on 15 January 2010 - 17:01

Raymond, I hate to say it, but you show your ignorance practically daily. As I said, this thread is not about politics. You go play with yourself somewhere else, or call Pat Robertson and discuss why the Haitian people are in this situation if you like. And don't donate a cent. But this thread, if you can comprehend this, is about donations and the terrible human catastrophe occurring in our part of the world. It is not too far fetched to think this is a rehearsal for our next huge earthquake.

Are there not corrupt officials in Haiti? Has all the aid gotten to those in need?Hodie have I called you ignorant?  And are you two previous posters an authority on the situation the Haitian people are in? no Even today reports are filtering through that the aid IS NOT GETTING THROUGH! This is not a political thread. I simply advise to give wisely and you two so called experts like to do nothing more but hurl insults and label ignorant. I would gladly compare my level of learning to yours any day1 Facts are facts.Still Hodie you FAIL TO TELL US WHY HAITI IS THE POOREST IN THE HEMISPHERE WITH ALL YOUR LEARNED EXPERIENCE. Yes I must refrain from talikng to fools because they are fols and nothing more! And tell us why you always seek confrontation??? I can post multiple scientific studies to prove the statements I made if you wish1 Again I simply caution to give carefully and you two rear you ugly heads! So be it Hodie and tess how much money have you given???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? I donated 200.00 how about yourselfs?Either put up or shut up!

by TessJ10 on 15 January 2010 - 18:01

Yep, my donation is made and I've left you far behind.  But who gave lots or little doesn't matter.  Every one who contributes, tiny, medium, or large, is doing a service.

You sent $200 even though according to you it will be stolen?  Yeah, right, raymond.

And it is ignorant to say two opposite things, which you did: 1) the Haitian people don't receive donated aid because of corrupt officials, and 2) the Haitian people are so dependent on welfare that they have no desire to improve themselves.

The aid is not getting through?  It's on its way from all over the world!  It's amazing how rapidly the countries pulled together the equipment and personnel and started them on the long journey, and you *itch because they couldn't just beam them there like Star Trek, that they actually have to travel.  And once they arrive the airport had to be organized and repaired and now they have to clear the roads, which are stacked with rubble, which has to be removed so the trucks can bring the aid.  They have to repair the machines that offload the ships since they were damaged.  All this is being done NOW, so aid is already there and working with more to come.  The carrier with 2 dozen helicopters is due to arrive today or tomorrow, with a hospital ship to be there within a few days.  What are you talking about??  Rescue teams with dogs from multiple countries are already on the ground, some doctors have already arrived, with more to come.
