Two Moons

by Two Moons on 09 February 2010 - 16:02

Its been a quite a while Keith,
Now days we have a local Blue Grass event just down the road.
Not as large but growing every year.

It's only a dream Maggie,

Moons.

"I gotta agree Tess,
I wouldn't want you for a neighbor, "

You bet, Moons.   You're the guy who says he beats his dogs when they come home after running away from him.  What with the guy in the story saying gollygeewhiz, guess I'll hack off that there thigamuhjig off'n muh dog, and you beating the crap out of yours, I'm glad you're both far away from me and mine.

Although thanks for suggesting to Oli on the other thread to fix the post response thing where it takes you back to p. 1 instead of the most recent page.  You're right about that.

Well I do anything I can for my dogs before I go to the vet.I worked for one as a tech so I can do many things. Maybe not take off a tumor......I think he loves his dog.He could have just said screw it you cost me too much and dumped the dog!!!"

Ok, you're a TECH, and even you wouldn't take off a tumor, yet you defend the guy. You have skills and knowledge, so you know what you're doing. There's absolutely no comparison between you and this guy. All the people saying, well, farmers do this....yeah, because they KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING. This is not the same thing at all.

Ok Tess you are right about that.I still don't see it as what I would call animal crulity as it was just more of a really bad judgement. I know what vets are like...no not all....but for the majority they rob people in what they charge for things. It is insane!! A shot that cost $3 they charge $20.It takes a few min to inject an animal. That tech that gave the animal that shot doesn't make that much $ to warent jacking up the price that much.THat is only one thing. What that dog would have needed would have been FAR from the $200 that the vet said. There are a few that will work with you.I am lucky enough to find one that I can call and tell him what i need and he will give it to me and not charge .I just think maybe the guy was scared for his dog and didn't do what he should have.We aren't in his shoes so we don't know what he was feeling or thinking. Vets aren't all that great...my boss killed my dog ,the best dog I have ever had, by not doing the right thing and still charged me a bunch of $$. SO yea....I kinda don't blame the guy.

You're right.

That is what it was.  Unfortunately, though, more good people will pay for this man's bad judgment, and that does irritate me.

Moons.

by TessJ10 on 09 February 2010 - 20:02

Are you suggesting I vamoose? (LOL)

Well, I'd miss you, too, so you better not be goin' anywhere.

This actually ties in nicely with Oli's thread - this kind of agreeing/disagreeing is fine.  It's a good example of an "arguing" thread that wouldn't/shouldn't be closed. (Although, LOL, maybe we were getting a little personal/catty about the neighbor thing, but that don't bother me none).  These kinds of disagreements are what makes the world go round, and they're good things.  IMHO it's what the board is for, seeing all these different viewpoints on all issues related to dogs.

I remember reading somewhere where someone wanted to pass a law that dewclaws couldn't be removed at home, I think it was when a litter of badly infected puppies was brought into a humane society and the poor little things were a mess, and I thought of how often I'd seen qualifed breeders remove the dewclaws on 2-3 day old puppies, and the puppies did 1-2 yips, then went back to nursing.  NO PROBLEM, no infection.  But some ham-handed yahoo has to ruin it for everybody.

I think it was wrong of him to remove that himself..... I mean really.  People seem to have the mentality that it's just a dog like they don't have any feeling of pain...  Well, guess right they do.  If you love your dog, you are not going to just try to play doctor with them.  That is why Vet go to school for as long as they have to go.   They put the dog under so they don't feel any pain, give them iv antibiotics and pain meds.  That is what they deserve.  Not so person playing doctor with them.  That is just crazy and stupid.    I take my dog to the vet regardless of the cost.  I will cut corners and do without myself before I would lef my dog suffer.   I think it is crazy, irresponsiable and just plain stupid.    If you are not a vet, don't play one.  It is a living being that can feel pain.   Stupid Fu****** People.

Two Moons,
I had posted a lengthy message that basically confronted the animal cruelty folks, the animal rights folks and the Humane Society and all of the orginizations like this that have gone way over the top and are the biggest force out there bent on having our rights taken away as well as creating a new mindset on a dogs role in mans life.

Not surprising to me, my post was pulled.  I guess those that desire to dictate to us how we are to "love" and "care" for our dogs also will not allow any disenting opinions.  Since these groups are seeking complete control, it makes perfect sense to pull any thing that  attacks their hidden agenda.

It was a good thread Two Moons, I am happy that most on here seem to have some discernment and a more full and more mature appreciation for our best friends.
