,,,,What Smile

by Noitsyou on 31 October 2016 - 03:10

@beeetree, if you can see it then it isn't subliminal. Anything I wrote was meant to be understood as it was written. So there goes your claims of sneakiness. But your reaction is not surprising nor unexpected. I actually predicted it in my post. You say I'm not nice but I would argue that I'm simply being honest. If you really wanted to shut me up you only have to post facts to back up your reasons for hating Hillary. You of course have the right to not do anything but given your anger towards me I would think that you would enjoy shutting me up. If it makes you feel better about it I won't get upset since I have less emotional investment in Hillary being a decent person than you have in her being the devil. I wouldn't want you to feel bad about possibly hurting my feelings. When I called you irrational with regard to Hillary it wasn't meant to be an insult. I know people tend to assume it has a negative connotation but it isn't always so. I'm merely suggesting that the questions I have asked you about Hillary, questions which not only you but every Hillary hater can't answer, are questions you should be asking yourself. I mean, if you can't post rational, fact based reasons for your views of her then maybe you really don't have any.

Remember, you asked about her 30 years of public service (although I don't think it should be 30 since 1st Lady shouldn't count as it isn't an elected office) and I brought up her years as a senator. It seems that many people have actually forgotten that about her. The point is, I am not afraid to answer questions so you can call me what you want but dishonest and a coward (with regard to facing questions) is not one of them. Unlike some I don't post things and when questioned simply ignore them and run off for a while. That is what a discussion is. It isn't posting a bunch of claims about someone then refusing to address the questions that those claims bring up. That's not a discussion but simply venting or propagandizing. I don't expect nor do I want anything I post to be taken as gospel. I don't get offended if someone questions anything I post. Why put something out for the public to see if you want it to be beyond criticism and questioning? No one is forced to post their opinions here so why do it if you don't want them questioned?

Dear Noitsyou,

Let me be clear, I am well aware of your propaganda use of subliminal techniques. I know what subliminal means. I know you think your interpretations of EVERYTHING are the ONLY ones. IMHO, no you are wrong. I absolutely mean it when I say stop insinuating Prager or Joan into any conversation with me. If you can't do that with me, I already expressed what I will do.

I don't care if you call me predictable. We all can be. Funnier still, is that I am now so stupid as to be predictably deceptive.  I have explained countless times why I hate Hillary. I don't care if you don't understand my POV, and it is also not my desire to "shut you up" (about Hillary or anything else). Continue on with your adoration of her, I really don't care. I will never share that view and I have my opinion and enough facts to satisfy me, NOT you.

I am not going to appease you with your "fact" quest. I simply don't need to or want to, despite whatever suppostion you might grasp at. I am not going to play your question game, either, because I do understand that game and what its intended results are.

So, now you will have to hope some other non-liberal feels like stumbling onto this minefield and will seek to engage and indulge you. It isn't going to be me, I know a landmine when I see one.

Roll eyes

by Noitsyou on 31 October 2016 - 20:10

Wow, that was unnecessarily dramatic. It's an internet forum, not Syria. I guess some people have no problems with provoking a debate or argument but are reluctant to actually engage in a debate or argument.

by beetree on 31 October 2016 - 21:10

Yeah... some people! Huh. Debating, that's what that was? I'd much prefer a decent conversation.

Congrats on being the smartest one in the room.

by Noitsyou on 01 November 2016 - 02:11

I don't think, given the subject matter, that a conversation is possible.

And thank you. The difference between me and a lawyer is that I don't think that. I let others come to that conclusion.

Oh yeah, IMHO.

by beetree on 01 November 2016 - 02:11

Oh, no worries about a conversation. That wasn't a specific desire aimed at you! Just a sort of general feeling. I get wistful for the good ol' days, every so often.

I let others enjoy their delusions as a kindness. Sometimes those include conclusions, too. Why deflate such fragile egos if instead I can spread joy?

Hmmm... BeeTree if you are still monitoring this thred I wanted to answer your last statement to me ^^^:
I fully agree, nowhere (at least that I can still find) on here have you chanted any of Trump's campaign slogans.
But you are wise enough to know this: that when anyone recites and retains (in the face of all opposition) the derogatory comments about Trump's opponent Hillary Clinton - which you have been doing - the less they listen to reason, the more their arguments are taken as in support of the first party. You don't actually have to say much directly about the first party.

You told us all along that you were trying to explain why some of the electorate want Trump; and you have encouraged readers to believe that this is all about how bad Clinton is.

Now I know "Nobody should ever believe what Michael Moore says", but if people take the time to listen to what he is saying during his current show,
1 - he gives better (and fairer) reasons than anyone else I've heard as to WHY Trump has won the loyalty of many of his supporters, without them needing to be racists and rednecks;
2 - he gives the best run down on what has been said about Hillary, starting right from 30 years ago, both good and bad; and lets the audience make up their own minds, based on ALL the facts, as to whether she is 100% evil, or a woman politician who has been to some
extent maligned and distorted.

Now, on that basis, he still declares for Hillary (though he says he's going to run next time if she messes up ...).

I think if you really feel that neither of them is worth voting for, you should be encouraging people to take the third position: abstain, in convincing numbers. Rather than by giving the impression all through these posts
that you feel Donald is the lesser of two evils, even though, granted, you do not actually say that in so many words.
