Onyx Haus....nice head on Onyx. Why is his fur so red? Is it just dead fur he hasn't shed yet? Mine get a little of that sometimes in the summer before shedding. What are those lines descended from? I see some DDR.

Caleb who?

Grizly is a striking dog...but he seems to have a bit too much angulation for my taste. It also could be the stack position, if the handler is pushing his butt in. I also like Sid vd Fasanerie. Pluto z PS is a good one, too. Of course I like my boy the best though, LMAO! Some say his head is too big/wide and that he looks more like a bear than a dog. I like black bears, too.

His photo was taken this summer here in Australia, and it was shedding, although back to its super shine. He descends from Ex Reidstern , and is heavily linebred on well known civil dogs here in down under. Grizly is a top looking dog and i get the impression that they want to promote a show type dog who is also serious in work. You can see him on you tube.. Your Caleb is a real beast of a dog, super strength and expression.. Have you considered storing some semen from him ? And if you do, ship some over...! Onyx has an appointment in a weeks time at the Vet, many guys are impressed with his grizzly bear looks and more so with his hardness and aggression, which i love best about him. So having some semen from him will keep his spirit alive. BTW couldnt find that Sid dog on the base.....

Thanks, Onyx. I think Caleb is pretty great, myself. Not that I'm biased, LOL.

Here's Sid:

And here's Caleb's 7 gen ped (he too, goes to Ex Reidstern)

I haven't collected him...I might. I will probably try to have one small litter just for myself. I don't find that many dogs nowadays that I like as much as I like him. He is not what a lot of people want though; so many want all prey and no defense.

I've looked at Sid and Onyx, fine looking animals.
But I'm still looking for something closer to home.

Hmm, I'm gonna have to disagree, politely. Here's why:

Breeding, IMO, should only be done in the best circumstances possible. If the best stud for my bitch is in Timbuktu, then off to Timbuktu we go! I think when you go scrounging around for the "best of what's nearby" or "the best of what's in my price range" you end up with less than the best...which, IMO, shouldn't be bred. Period.

Finding a needle in a haystack is best done one small area at a time.
But I understand your point.
There are limitations to everyones situation and sometimes we must work within our means.
The realities of any situation cannot be ignored.
I will do my best.

Well, the needle in a haystack part is true...but I still disagree with distance being a deciding factor when it comes to breeding to "the best" vs. "ok since nothing else is closer." Know what I mean?  We do need to work within our means, but I admit I'm extreme. I waited almost 7 years before being able to buy a bitch I found breedworthy. Why did I wait so long? I didn't have the money to buy "the best."
