a friend of mine won't even touch showlines anymore.  she got tired of all her red imports fading to yellow or tan after a few months of being in the states or after a couple bathes.
And was the color of the dog more important to your friend than the dog?

Sounds like she was the one concerned more with color than other qualities - the color mattered so much to her that now since they're not red she "won't even touch" them.

everyone who wants a showline dog, wants the red color.  if you pay good money for a dog, and then after a few months of having it, that rich pigment you thought you were buying goes away, wouldn't you be disappointed?

no, my friend breeds working lines cause she cares more about the dogs health and working qualities than she did the color.

I can honestly say I have 2 granddaughters from Ghandi (different sires, same dam) and they both have unvbelieveable color and one is from Ingodd's Albert. I happen to know and really like Albert. I have seen him year round and he has beautiful pigment. I do not own a Mittelwest dog  just bred to him as he is producing some very quality dogs.

No...I want a GSD I can do things with.  I don't mind a tan dog, and whatever idiot put the stupid idea that RED is better than TAN in peoples heads should be shot >.<  Tan is NOT a faded color...it's just as good...IMO BETTER because I'm SICK of seeing RED DOGS!

I'll take a freakin' cream dog if that means it'll keep the damn saddle!  That's what bothers me most!  Dogs that don't have a saddle!  Cream or Silver + Dark Saddle wins out over deep red all over!

"everyone who wants a showline dog, wants the red color."

What a ridiculous - and untrue - blanket statement.
