BEWARE !!! THIS IS A NOTICE TO INFORM EVERYONE THAT GERD REIMS(KAHLER HEIDE) AND HIS SIDE-KICK SIMONE SCHMIDT ARE DISHONEST PEOPLE. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM !!! I purchased Quasi v.d. Kahler Heide from Gerd Reims (I was told that she was pregnant by Ursus v. Batu). He asked me to send the payment in full to his bank, which I did. After he got my money, he and Simone then told me that Quasi died. They refused to return my money. I have saved all the documents of our agreement etc. so I can prove what I wrote here. The truth of the matter is that Quasi did 'NOT' die...Actually, she is still very much alive and well and is presently owned by Stephano, a man in the UK. Gerd Reims got the money for Quasi from me and then sold her to Stephano. Check it out at http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/user_comments/125266.html I am not "just another disgruntled buyer"....I WAS SCREWED BIG TIME BY GERD REIMS AND SIMONE SCHMIDT. I have purchased dogs directly from Sendling, Arlett and Bad Boll with very positive results.... I recommend these breeders. The purpose of this writing is to warn all innocent prospective buyers from making the same mistake as I did by doing business with Kahler Heide or Konigsberg....I am not the only one who has been screwed by these people...there are several others...BEWARE !!!

Johntic, Thank-you very much for letting people know about this. You have saved MANY PEOPLE from going through the same thing. You had the GUTS to inform everyone worldwide about this. I am sorry that you had to go through this. If this is how some breeders in Germany do business by stealing money, and lying about an animal being deceased, we all know what to do!! Stop the greenbacks from going there and BOYCOTT!! Dawn G. Bonome

Hey Johntic, Sorry to hear that you had to go through all of this, but I saw this female on the website of the English kennel quite a while back. Recently a close friend was also cheated by a self proclaimed "Reputed Breeder" I hope that people are aware of these facts now & careful of these Bloody Shameless Crooks! They should be widely exposed!

It sounds as though you are a very nice and trusting person. It’s very brave of you to use a forum such as this to discredit anyone who’s a thief. It would be even better if you had some sort of recourse through the courts and or the SV. Heck…if all else fails, it’s worth taking a trip to Germany and taking it out on his hide! People like that should be made to realize that sever repercussions will result for dishonest actions such as you were put through. I'm sure that all of the honest breeders in Germany would applaud your actions. It's scum like that that ruin it for everyone. Thanks to you for the warning. Go get him!

Very dishonest GSD breeders and importers also in USA. It sound like what you had with losing your money and YOUR dog. Shepherds von Ajaye in united States has getting big reputation for selling dogs and puppys and not to give the buyers the pink papers even a long time after dog all paid for. Mrs Kolbe of von Ajaye hold on to them and even ask sometime for more money. She have done this to people I know. She say for long time she have not pink papers when SV says she have them. She tell many stories to buyers. When buyers talk together later about stories they learn truth. Many of truth are sad. Make a bad name for all breeder. Mrs. Kolbe of von Ajaye ask my 2 friend to pay $1000 USD each for german handler to take dog into one american class. German Handler Dirk Gabriel big on Ajaye web site. He did not like dogs, so he refuse to take in class. Owners got no refund from von Ajaye. Mrs Kolbe she say to all clients to impress them Dirk Gabriel he is her business partner. She say he go pick the choices in litters she import. Who knows? Anyway when buyers talk they find she sell first pick of same litter to more than 2 people. Guarantee on that site not worth reading. One more Ajaye client who have make Deposit of $1000 USD for puppy fromm certain litter. Money not return when female not bred to that male, then that litter not born, or she say female "resorb puppies" so noone born. Lots excuses, but no money back. Ever. I hear many more of this kennel a lot of bad things. My friends are hurt very bad in money and the big money dogs have no pink papers. I am not finding Ajaye name making with breeder active in american schutzhund trials or show records. Just few owners. no support from breeder importer Mrs. Kolbe Just selling and not training or showing. Just make a fast money. In america they say buyer beware. Wrong way to make business. No honour.

Johntic, what a nightmare!! Stories like yours make people afraid to import and certianly hurts reputable German breeders who offer their dogs for sale to other countries. Maybe there is something the SV can do? I remember very well, when I first started breeding, being warned never to import from this kennel. Thank you for posting your experiance and warning all of us!

Perhaps Oli could have a "Hall of Shame" section for such issues. Of course in the US that would put one in court defending oneself against the inevitable law suit crooks seem to win at a disgusting rate. (Ok. I'll admit I'm old and jaded...:))

Andrew you make comment about SV - what can SV do to person who not make business with honesty to sell dogs. If person pay for dog and not get SV papers for dog, what SV do to seller who not give papers to new owner? Can SV make new paper for new owner in some way? Do SV have way to stop bad seller from make bad business by use SV papers as way to make buyer make choose buy their dog, or pay more money for this dogs? When no get papers after so many months, dog and buyer lose much money and time and future for plan or train or breed. Big waste for all. Hall of shame was good idea from other message. Maybe take bad seller out from business?

There should be a way to file a formal complaint with the SV who can then level sanctions against dishonest breeders. If they can not register their dogs, that would in effect put them out of business. A hall of shame is also an idea, however it is very easy to damage an honest breeders reputation just the same. I am just as guilty, I was very quick to jump on the band wagon in regards to Johntic's post, when in fact I do not even know both sides of the story. If what he claims is true, then there should be some form of recourse.

It all comes down to MONEY. You have to ask yourself, is any organization willing to pass on the profit to truly enforce the standard? IMOPO the organizations involved should provide a reputable enforcement of the legitimacy of the integrity of what the sport and registration is. The organizations that offer the venue of this breed MUST be responsible enough to police it.
