I am a newbie to the show ring and Schutzhund sport and need some guideance. The closest club is 3-4 hours away so I am pretty much on my own. I have watched training tapes and feel I am understanding the concept. I have never been to a trial but I plan to find a show and see just what I am getting myself into. Also talk with some of the owners and trainers. I have a 3 month old female who has a very outgoing personality, tremendous ball drive, and good rag aggression with a full bite. I would love to use her to show with this next year but I have one concern. She is out of a Sch3 titled and koered stud but her dam is not titled. Will this stop my plans with this little girl? I read the USA rules and regs and if I am reading them right, she will not be able to be registered with them. Doesnt she need to be registered with the USA to show and be titled? I would hate to see this wonderful girl go to waste because her momma was not titled. I have not doubt she has what it takes to compete. Thanks Jan ;-)

The dam does not need to be titled, but she must be registered with a SV recognised kennel club. In the U.S.A, the AKC is the recognised club. If you have your pup's pedigree, then you can apply for a score book with United Schutzhund Club of America and compete in their schutzhund trials. If the sire and the dam are both imports and the pup was born in the U.S.A., then I would check both AKC's and United's websites on what to do. If you don't have a pedigree, you may be able to get a limited registration with AKC that allows you to compete in obedience trials. I'm not sure about United. M**3

All 3 organizations in the US have a way for you to participate. Get the AKC registration done first. It's universal. WDA and USCA can help you from there with the AKC papers.

Both parents are imported from Germany with Pink papers. My pup is already AKC registered. Thanks
