No need to be sorry Chris, no need to be upset. You made a mistake and I corrected it.Brush up on your subject before your post? The info on the Malinois is correct as stated,The dutch shepherd I said I was not sure of....

Hi Christopher just had a look at the link you provided. The pedigree is not from a recognized Registry. In Holland it has to come from the Raad van Beheer. Any official pedigree issued in Europe has to bear the FCI logo, or else it is a what we refer to over there a "dissident club". Raad van Beheer, SV - those are FCI associated clubs. It also says on the very left hand side that the dog we are looking at is a x Hollandse Herder, meaning that it is a dutch shepherd cross. On the very right hand side, third dog down, you will see a breeder with the name of Hans Pegge. National KNPV CH that guy and can be a good source of dogs. Emphasis on can be... Hey Charlie, how are things with you?

Hi Charlie sorry to hear that. Can feel for you. Lost a friend, a kid I used to mentor, a few years ago. Bright sunny November Saturday afternoon, no traffic, the guy came from a left side road and just didn't see him. Clipped the back of the bike, sent him flying at 65m/h (60m/h is speed limit on german country roads, so he wasn't speeding). Nothing on that stretch but a single street sign that he had to hit with his head. He died 20 minutes later from swelling of the brain. The attenting cop was a good family friend, so at least he was not alone. Not a single scratch on him! It was very bizzarre. He was supposed to get married the following February. That was a few years ago, he was 21 then. And he was a really good kid too. Don't see too many like him any more these days... He was bright and ambitious, with the heart in the right spot, worked very hard, had a very good relationship with his parents also good friends of mine, and was a good friend to everyone he knew... So sad.

Chris, I fail to see why your getting so upset,Someone asked a question,I answered to the best of my ability.I do not claim to be an expert in the Malinois,I have owned several and titled a few,In my opinion the ultimate working/sport dog, even surpassing the GSD.If you have something to share by all means do so.I am all ears and always willing to learn. The information I provided as well as the info Daniela provided is well documented.I still do not know where our differences lie.Do you say the Dutch shepherd is in fact in the same family of the four dogs I mentioned in my above post or not?I'm really not looking to bust anyones balls on this subject

I guess Daniela it is always the good that die young? I watched this guy grow from a snot nosed kid bagging groceries at the local store to becoming a master in his trade(Plumbing&heating) and a great father to his then 9year old son.Just a really good guy,I fell asleep on the coach one winters night, only to wake to what I thought was Lori getting ready for work taking a shower.I went to go upstairs and then found the noise I heard was in the kitchen,a pipe had burst in my wall and was spraying hot water up into a false ceiling.Water and steame EVERYWHERE,I just stood there like a complete ass wondering what the hell to do.........lol.So I call this guy at like 4 in the morning, told him what was going on and his response was let me throw something on and I'll be right over.......30mins later he was and at least fixed it til he could do the jog right....I think the cost for that call was dinner .Worked a side job the day he died, had went home to get cleaned up and then was off to his girlfriends house, never made it,I got a call about 6 that morning telling me what had happened,Funny how one person dying can have such a ripple effect on so many different people.I can tell you one thing,I promised myself and my friend I would keep an eye on his son,and so far have lived up to that promise,I went to court with his son and his ex wife, the kid is only 10years old now,He got up there when it was time to make his victims impact statement he marched right up to the judge and with out missing a beat read his entire statement to the judge and the entire courtroom.....that had to take some balls to do.........amazing little man.No doubt in my mind his father would have been very proud of him

In the end, it really is all about the people, isn't it, Charlie?

by Charlie Ivory on 09 December 2004 - 02:12

Yeah I guess it is at that..........
