All of the dogs already mentioned are excellent choices, I'd like to add V-Geronimo v Olympus Schh3,KKl-1 - he has absolutely rock-solid nerves and outstanding temperament, super in the work, wonderful pigment and bone as well.  His puppies are doing excellent in the work.

AlliGSD911,
If you want a  good proven showline male that can truly work you might want to consider getting frozen semen from V Santos von der Burg Botzlar, SchH3, kkl1... you can check him out at http://germanshepherdlitters.com/modules/news/article.php?storyid=2

Santos is a proven producer.

Santos is 13 years old and hes still moving.

I own a progeny of his and I have no regrets.

So far my bitch, the progeny of Santos has no health problems and she recieved OFA normal and good on both of her hips and elbows. Her temperament is very good. She's also my (uncertified) Psychiatric service dog. She helps me with my depression. It's amazing how she comes to my aid with great concern (I can tell by the look on her face)  whenever I start crying. She has help me to cope with my emotions without having to take a pill. She loves children.

If its actually Seiger show rated males you're looking for, we have a number of very nice ones in this country. I would highly recommend you go to a Seiger show yourself to see these dogs in person.

In the central US, I have used Yacco von der Vallendarer Hohe, he was SG40 BSZS, only a SchH1 at this time, but in my opinion, did better bitework at the NASS than many of the SchH3s. I cannot say enough nice things about his owner Mike and excellent care he took of my female. In Gerorgia is Yash Bastillie, an excellent Hill son, litter brother of Yukon (who I love)  and I got some "very" hard puppies from Santo von der Neuen Welt.

Lets not leave out Kirchenwald's excellent males, she has several of them. And I know Karat's Jambo (Orbit Huhnegrab x Karat's Olly) will be at stud here in IL until at least the spring. He is really gorgeous, and you can see video of his bitework at www.vollmondshepherds.com  If everything lines up, I plan on using him this spring.

Thank you so much everyone!.  Yes, I will be going to my first Seiger Show in October...unfortunately I can't make the LONG haul to CA next month.

Molly - Who owns Olympus?  He's gorgeous! I'd love to find out more about him.

KCzaja - I've heard that Santo produces very hard puppies from other people as well.  I'm actually picking up a very nice female from his littermate in 2 weeks...which I'm very excited about!  I like Karats Jumbo as well, but unfortunately he probably wont be around when I'm looking to be doing this breeding (March 2009...planning ahead and doing research!!)

Are there any nice Quartz sons in the US??

by eichenluft on 12 March 2008 - 14:03

Isn't Ronaldo v Zellergrund a Quartz son?  Might be mistaken - sorry no time to check on that.  Geronimo v Olympus is in CA, owned by Louise Penery - riesenblut@sbcglobal.net.  As I said this is a fantastic dog in every way, when you meet him you'll see how perfect his temperament is, and he's an eyefull of gorgeous to match it.  I'm very pleased with his puppies in looks and work (drive, temperament, nerve for the work) and will be repeating the breeding.

Ronaldo vom Zellergrund is a Quartz grandson, since his dam is a Quartz daughter.

Ronaldo vom Z's sire is VA1 Larus von Batu.
