Dawn, My cosuin is a Doctor (peds) In Fla, I'll give her a call today from work

I am assuming by ITP you are talking about ideopathic thrombocytopeanic purpura? If so, my son had it at the age of four. The cause was the stupidity of a doctor giving him his preschool immunization before he was over the flu. Of course they swore it had nothing to do with it. However, he was healthy child on the day of his shot, except he was still coughing, and two days later he was hospitalized.(I kept asking the doctor if it was safe and he assured me it was. I have found out over the years that the medical profession is often the cause of more problems than help and I have had doctors give me incorrect info and lie to me)He recovered after a few weeks on steroids, although I am not sure if they really did help. Make sure the parents ask questions and monitor the treatment and get as many opinions as they feel are necessary. Also, if he is on steroids, monitor what they are feeding him in the hospital.my son gained 10 pounds in a couple of weeks hospital stay (that's a lot for a 4 year old)and it was because they were not watching what he was eating. The nurse had the nerve to lecture me about his weight until I pointed out the weight gain was while he was under her care.He had access to lots of goodies he should not have had. He lived

thanks Charlie would be very appreciative. Edith wow that is awful. see, a few years ago when my cousin and her husband lived in Seattle Joshua ended up with some viral pneumonia, after this is whent hey found the ITP.... now these DRs in FL are doing testing on the parents to see if they carry the gene for Lupus or something.. but they were thinking that maybe the pneumonia caused the Lupus????? because i guess this is autoimmune???? this is why i jumped online and for the last 12 hrs been reachingout all over in the hopes someone somewhere has had this experience or knows of someone that can offer some help. i guess lupus really isnt a illness for boys/men. so someone told me maybe he has less of the male hormones or something.. maybe research that avenue.. maybe supplement female hormones?? idont know. iknow men have both female and male hormones.. and females do as well... but i dont know the percentages. the little guy is on some steroids and he is on blood thinners and all kinds of stuff i sent them a link about holistic natural treatments too. my other aunt told me that Joshua told his mom that he wants to be with Jesus now.. and he doesnt want this pain or going to drs anymore :( that just killed me my poor cousin is trying to explain to him more about going to heaven that right now he isnt that sick that there is hope and we have to just be patient :( thanks so much everyone my family TRULEY believes in prayer and are very very very religeous so thank you !
