I didn't watch much of either convention, the hyperbole drive me nuts. So I am wondering if any of these people had  much to say about the war in Iraq; will they get us out of there or keep us there into infinity? What about the economy and the record profits of the oil companies?

by Blitzen on 03 September 2008 - 13:09

What did McCain's daughter do?

by Blitzen on 03 September 2008 - 14:09

Baby Eagle, this morning Ron Paul was sliced and dised on the "Morning Joe" show, MSNBC.

by Uglydog on 03 September 2008 - 14:09

Blitzen,

Morning Joe  Scarboroughis another traitor. An intern was found dead in his office, back when.

The Message of following the Constitution is not dead. Hence Ron Paul will never be sliced or diced.

In fact, more people are coming around to it every day, as opposed to the Neo CON agenda of more war for Israel, More illegals, More defecit spending, More government, More abortion & More Lies.

by Blitzen on 03 September 2008 - 14:09

I didn't know that, Ugly. I hate that show, just happened to hear them making light of Paul's convention when I was looking for a report on the RNC. I am curious to hear McCain and Palin's takes on the war in Iraq, the economy, and the health insurance issues. I watched Morning Joe for about 3 minutes and then sat down and sent a pm to MSNBC telling them that I think it's a horrible show. It won't matter to them I'm sure. I wish that there would be just one news network dedicated to only presenting us with the facts instead of always interjecting their own personal opinions and snide remarks.  I guess public TV comes the closest. Another reason why this country is going down the tubes; we allow the lunatic fringe media to tell us who to vote for.

Blitzen-Almost all media talking heads are Paid Liars & Shills.   Joe Scarborough  is no different.  Bill O Liarly, Sean Vannity, Oxy Poppin Rush Bimbo-a former Vietnam deferrment for a cyst on his ass, once arrested for soliciting gay sex in Pittsburgh. His call name there was Jeff Christie-story has been buried as he's a $40 Million year Liar for the machine.    Ann Coultergeist, Neil Bortzstein, Glen Beckberg.   Get some  rope & a tree please for all of them.

Most US Politicians are owned as well. These 'scandals' dont just happen.   They are often filmed with children, or committing adultery, or are closet homosexuals etc.  Most are blackmailed & Compromised when it is appropriate, when they dont follow the line ie Elliiot Spitzer, Larry Craig, et al

No, Ugly - I am not looking to play God. Fortunately, I have never been confronted with a decision such as the one the Palins' had to deal with and so I don't know how I would have decided how to proceed.

One interesting detail is that Sarah Palin must have had amniocentesis to have had the diagnosis made that she was carrying a foetus witth Downs Syndrome. I am curious why she would even have bothered to do so if abortion was something that she would not have considered irrespective of the health of the foetus. My daughter and her husband - who are pro-life - declined an amnio when she was pregnant because they had decided that abortion was not an option under any circumstances although she was at an age when she was at greater risk to give birth to an infant with Downs Syndrome.

Getting into a discussion with regard to the moral aspects of abortion will not be productive. Essentially, it hinges on one's definition of when life begins - point of conception or later. People can disagree in good faith. I am not inclined to pass a value judgement on those who take a contrary position to mine. I know from reading your other posts that your views are conditioned, in part, by your religious beliefs and I respect that - but those who don't have the same religious convictions may have a differing point of view and I respect that as well. But as I said in my prior post, I believe it is the duty of every couple to ensure that there is not an unwanted pregnancy - and treating abortion as a solution when there is an unwanted pregnancy, because basic precautions were not taken, is inexcusable, IMO.

Blitzen, I always enjoy reading your well-reasoned posts and appreciate your comment.

Life is Life.  And Life 'Beginning' isnt the question, thats a canard.

There is either life there or not.

A woman cannot be 'sort of' pregnant.  Either the tests say Pregnant or not.  Theres no middle ground.

In this sense, its Life.   Now one can rationalize, Talmudicize & Lie to themself about whether its a 'life' but the ultrasound is pretty clear in terms of development.  At that point, one is playing GOD.

Piercing a childs skull to suck out its brains,  is Murder.   Theres no other way to describe it.  Its a new phenomenon as well..1973 it was sold to the public on a Lie, NARAL founder Dr Bernard Nathanson is pretty clear about it. They call a life a 'choice'.  Its done casually as birth control mostly but in some cases simply as a way out, especailly if the child has physical problems.

My oldest son has autism.  I hate to think that we wouldve killed him.  But he has pulled through, he beat it completely, has skipped a grade & at 6, now almmost beats me at Chess.

My sister has a Child with CP & was told he'd never walk or talk.  Funny,  as he said hello to the doctor that gave him a possible death sentence in the elevator last year and shook his hand, while walking out of the elevator.

We are all given Crosses to Bear. Thats part of life..

BabyEagle,

I kept scanning the crowd every time the camera's would pan that direction wondering If I'd see you ..LOL

Are you allowed to show your sign's and banner's or do they keep you guy's held down?     I'd get a kick out of it if your face ended up on one of those close up cameo's.  Don't forget to smile...:)
