Raven...while i understand what your saying,  everyone is free to express themselves here, i could be very offened by that tounge...someone might have not liked my vampire....but thats the way it is,,,,she had every right to have it there, unless the "owner" of the board asks her to remove it......( not offend by the tounge,just an example)

This post has kinda gotten to me,  Yes the state of the country is a far cry from where it should be, but isn't that an opinion?  (though many of us have it)

I grew up where this country fought for freedom, tooth and LIFE, and I am proud of it.  Freedom of lots of things is  something we Americans can all be proud of.  If a little avatar offends you, I can imagine what TV does to you.  Venzosmom is correct, Avatars are just that, an expression of ourselves that can be way out there, I just happen to love my dog Siren so she is my avatar at the moment, I have seen some great Celtic avatars, wish I could get a Fank Frazetta one.

Read the posts, stick to the topics, don't be affected by the avatars, it is a personal thing, a sort of opinion, that flies around on this board like something that makes me totally crack up sometimes, this has been better than the Sunday comics at times.

I DRIVE MY HUSBAND NUTS AT WORK CALLING HIM ABOUT SUCH AND SUCH ON THE TV.

HIS SUGGESTION IS TO SHUT THE DARN THING OFF!!LOL

MY PHILOSOPHY IS IF I DON'T STAND FOR SOMETHING I'LL FALL FOR ANYTHING

The members of the board do try and keep politics out of the way of the GSD. That is why some of the posters will put in subject line, "if offends you, move on". Freedom is the key, free will, free speach.  This is one of the special thigs about this board, people from all over the world to learn from and say Hi to. There are alot of differences in cultures, beliefs, race, gender, age, experiance, religon and politics on the this board, it is actually suprising their are not more fights here. I actually find it refrreshing, that we can learn, in reality we are the same, We have families, hardships in life, love our dogs, etc. Particiapte where you want and ignore the rest,  Be glad, you have the right to dislike and speek up about Yellowrose's avatar, just as she has the right to post her avatar.

Here's my thoughts:

1. contact the board owner about your concerns and also about what you may or may not post. After all, she has the last word, regardless of what anyone here thinks. If YR is out of line, it is up to her to handle it, not you or some vigilante posse you might raise.

2. Make a list of everyone who really gives a cat's crap about what offends you. Be as honest as you can. Use this list to help determine your pecking order in the universe. Hopefully, this will help you deal with an obviously overinflated ego. The world must bend to your concept of what is right and wrong, give me a break.

3. start your own board, where you control content. Be sure and send the website address.

4. I come across something offensive almost every day, but how stupid would it be to expect the world to conform to my expectations.

5. Get over it and contribute something meaningful to one of the few sites dedicated to the discussion of real GSDs instead of being concerned about someone else's convictions.
