Kalibeck

by Kalibeck on 20 October 2008 - 19:10

She's napping now, resting, & healing: her appetite is great, she looks wonderful, a little stoned yet, was watching the leaves fall with me earlier, ...".like, wow, mom--look at all the pretty colors...oooooo!" She's on the dog version of Ultram for pain & to slow bowel motility. I had to laugh at the silly girl, twisting her neck to watch the leaves flutter down! I was browsing the American Veterinary Surgeon's website last night when I was supposed to be working, & I found some pretty encouraging statistics.....while as many as 70% of spontaneous intussusceptions relapse, only 30% relapse after surgical correction with plication (which she had), & 0% relapse after surgical correction with plication & opioid pain medication for 5-7 days post-op(which she's on)----0%---! That's so reassuring! Now if we can, just this once, not be the exception to the rule, we will be ecstatic. Thanks again everyone. The powerful results of prayer, positive thinking, or whatever you want to call it! jackie harris

So glad to hear that your pup is doing well! I do wonder if this was the first time St. Francis was petitioned regarding a POS. LOL.
