Chissum...we ALREADY have George Orwell Going mad.  Where have you been, man?

'You are either with us or against us', 'Patriot' Act, MCA Act, Warrantless Spying, Torture, Disregard for Habeus Corpus etc et al

And US Grunts Fragging or Killing, C/Os,  Is a story underreported and often Not Heard.  Similar to Iraq troops doing 'Search & Avoid' Missions presently, getting high on Hash or parking their Humvees at night,  rather than patrols, hence part of  the 'drop' in violence.

If you bothered to read the Headline, it mentioned it was a 'HIDDEN' story,..... not covered in Mainstream, Controlled, Censored, Pentagon Dictated US Media.   'The Hidden Story of the Americans that Finished the Vietnam War'

But you were right about the liabilities.  I see a total economic and Dollar Collapse within 6-7 months. Thats collapse, with a 'C'

Chisum, I have read your postings and so I did not for a moment think that you were advocating Nazi style "solutions". But here is the verbatim quote to which you responded and I reacted:

"Then, the only core problem OUR world has is, Over Population.     We do our best to breed better dogs, why can't people breed better humans?  Why do we feel this is a right we have?  Why don't we put some rules to that so that only those who can proof they are worthy humans are allowed to breed?  Why can't we?

Leaving aside whether the core problem that the world confronts is over-population and all of the Malthusian connotations that such a statement implies which is a whole different subject, read exactly what is written immediately thereafter. When one talks about "breeding better humans" and putting into place rules so that "only those who can prove they are worthy humans are allowed to breed", I don't see a whole lot of nuance in such remarks.

This comment advocating selective breeding of human beings is even compared to doing "our best to breed better dogs". So what do we do to breed "better dogs" - we combine the best genetic lines, we refrain from breeding dogs that have certain "faults" that can be passed on to progeny, etc.

Kalibeck called it "horrific" idea. I could add a few choice adjectives!

Aw, Chisum.  You cannot, no matter how you try, refute the information from that You Tube video, can you?  So, you start throwing everything within reach trying to deflect the message of Mr Obama's staff member.  Poor thing.

No, I don't want a return to Bush, but I do think we're in for quite a tumultuous 4 years, with Mr Obama coming out of the starting gate, Executive order pen ablaze.  And, remember, he's ready to RULE.  We've waited a little over 230 years for King George 111 to be replaced.  It's about high time, isn't it?

Want to see that video again?  Here you go.  Enjoy!

Merely strove to keep you interested Micky. Must say that the video beats interminable Congress reports!

I’ve got reservations about Obama too, Micky, but difficult to translate into words.

Is he in fact as smart as he appears or is it a slick, well-scripted, well-rehearsed act? And if he really is clever, has he got the heart to go with it, the ‘gravitas’ and humanity to make an exceptional president? I also distrust all modern politicians on principle - I can’t remember one that actually lived up to whatever hopes I might have had!

George III? Obama isn’t not going to get far unless he can cajole/persuade Congress etc to go along with whatever he wants to push through, other than the fact that he’s hemmed in by every financial/economic obstacle imaginable. He can run up a gargantuan budget deficit but aside from that he’s really got no options but to hope that the economy will somehow sort itself out (and how much can a measly one hundred billion achieve).

Yeah, you’re right about Big Brother already being here, Ugly.

Well, not sure who decided grunts killing officers was a ‘Hidden Story’ but I was aware of it decades ago; must admit I can’t off hand recall having seen it in print. Now you’ve got tales of Iraqi ‘pay-back’ instead!

Its self-evidently absurd nature, if not irrelevance to what were discussing, would have seen my mind simply skip over most of it, KTF! And hey, why not take it up with Kerschy!

Malthus is probably worth a thread itself but I wonder how relevant his conclusions still are.

Well chisum, again, Delphi runs rampent with you doesn't it ..... can you answer my questions please ... I'll ask again ... When will hard work ever pay off for an individual ? Will hard work ever-again be granted an individual right inherited by a creator and not of governments of men ?

by Bob McKown on 11 November 2008 - 14:11

Hard work will only be profitable when we keep those profits to our selfs and not allow legislated wealth.

Socialism has one major fault!

It fails to generate wealth.

IE Cuba, Soviet Union, China, etc.

by Micky D on 11 November 2008 - 14:11

"Obama isn’t not going to get far unless he can cajole/persuade Congress etc to go along with whatever he wants to push through,"

Ah, but you forget the prophetic words of  Clinton staffer Paul Begala: "Stroke of the pen, law of the land, kinda cool!"  We already have been warned that Mr Obama plans on using executive orders on his FIRST DAY. And, just what is this "national force" that will be as powerful as the military, anyway? We've got a National Guard already.

Mr Obama would be well advised to listen to the sage warning from a former democrat President:

"You do not examine legislation in light of the benefits it will convey if properly administered, but in light of the wrongs it would do and the harms it would cause if improperly administered." Lyndon Baines Johnson

Bush did enough damage with the Patriot Act. It has enough potential for abuse already.

US May Lose Its 'AAA' Rating

CNBC.com | 10 Nov. 2008

"The U.S. might really have to look at a default on the bankruptcy reorganization of the present financial system" and the bankruptcy of the government is not out of the realm of possibility, Hennecke said.

"In the United States there is already a funding crisis, and they will have to sell a lot more bonds next year to fund the bailout packages that have already been signed off," Hennecke told CNBC.

In order to solve or stem the economic slowdown, Hennecke suggested the US would have to radically reduce spending across all sectors and recall all its troops from around the world.

As for a stimulus package, there is not much of an industry left to stimulate back into life, Hennecke said.
