I highly recommend Adel Haus. I have found them to be extemely helpful and kind. The quality of their dogs speaks volumes about them. As with any breeder, you will find the occasional person that is unhappy, so you'll need to look at the overall picture of the breeder. Please feel free to contact me privately about any additional information I can provide. Jennifer Holtgrew

Have heard nothing but good things about Adel Haus. Christi is very nice and willing to answer any questions.

Hodie, I can't find your e-mail address anywhere to ask you about more Colorado breeders. Could you post there website addresses?

by Het on 13 January 2005 - 23:01

wolf, just click on his name and you will see the email address.

Sharyn-aka Hodie, YES there are many breeders in the Colorado area and I also would be happy to provide information on all of them since I have been around, shown, and trained in the US and Germany longer than the majority of these so "called" breeders have even owned or been involved in German Shepherds. And I can give information to how many of those so called breeders attend, show or have dogs from their breedings shown a shows or sieger shows. Talk is cheap. But then again there are "doers in the world and those that talk about doing". As for Mark and Marsha Seck-aka mnm, I have a email that you sent a year ago to me where you did NOT properly represent yourselves and I later found out your true identities and after your question of "where is the money in these dogs and how do we make it" I told Christi of Adel Haus that I did not want her or any of MY dogs involved with such persons as yourselves. I do not play games and I do not involve myself with those that chose to and I do the dogs for hobby and sport not a income. Also the dog you have mentioned that placed VP1, Viggo, was under agreement with you and Adel Haus that it would be trained and presented at the show by Adel Haus. You NEVER even paid the show entry and that is why you were NOT given the show card, per my instructions. I look forward to seeing you all present your breedings and your dogs at the upcoming USA sieger show, I will be there as I have been for the last 15 years. Mandy West

Sharyn and others - whatever "off with the gloves" may mean then so be it - do what you think is best and what gives you pleasure, that is MY philosophy. I prefer to spend my time and energy on my super new daughter, my dogs, my successful business and blessed friends. I have shown successfully and consistently in the last 18 years at shows in US, Germany and several other countries, Sieger shows in US and Germany, the USA Nationals and the WDA qualifier blah blah blah, having done so I have watched many many many people come and go so I take pleasure in sitting back and just letting human nature take its course. Having obtained a Master of Psychology from Oxford University, and a Master of English Literature, I learned that all people have opinions and seldom can it be changed through words, let actions show the character, talk is cheap. Now I have way to much to do to look to this thread and respond any more as I am preparing my dogs for the upcoming USA sieger show and I look forward to seeing all the "breeders" and "trainers" and "experts" there in the ring and on the protection field. Thank you Mandy, You seem to have a real problem with someone who asks too many questions, just like Christi did. Oh but then you are in business together. Unfortunately you have only been told Christi's side of the story. Then again, after catching Christi in lies, we didn't threatened her, she threatened to ruin us in the GSD world by having her partners spread the 'word'. Like that's going to bother us any. Furthermore, we didn't miss-represent ourselves to you. We told you that we own an Adel Haus pup. That is the truth. We asked questions about your partnership because information had been removed from her web site. We were after a reference to reassure us, but that never came from you. It came from her. We were basically told to mind our p's and q's and do as Christi says and all will be fine. Well, sorry but we don't operate blind. That just continued to show us Adel Haus' true character. We didn't make public comments about Adel Haus, but both of you seemed to jump in to posting our name publicly. We asked people to contact us privately. That is a proper way to do this business. Yes, we asked Christi about where the money is in the dogs. Believe me, she certainly didn't about fall off her chair as she has posted elsewhere. This is a future business investment for us and we treat it that way. We have since found that the money is in breeding and selling high priced show pups, which you already knew. Of course, there are ways to hide the income. We had been involved in breeding and raising other dogs and have knowledge as to income and expenses of a dog operation. One only has to put a pencil or calculator to some figures to find the answers. Good luck to all this year.

I wanted to say again, I have had multiple dog-"dealings" with Adelhaus, and have nothing but positive experiences to say about them. I am happy to tell these experiences in detail, should anyone be interested. I recommend Adelhaus highly to anyone looking for a working or show-line puppy. I have also had personal experiences with Mandy West. Mandy was nothing but professional, friendly, easy to deal with - all paperwork in order and puppies sired by her stud dog "Mikey" fantastic. Mandy, in case you are interested - that litter from Mikey and my Adra turned out super. Here are some of the puppies today - Hellequin Schh3,CD,TDI,KKl-2,OFA Good - HIT in most of her titles, now preparing for her first litter. Hawk Schh3,TDI,KKl-2,OFA Good. Haska UD(X) - 2 more legs to get her UDX title before 5 years old. Had her UD before 3 years old. Is in the 2004 rankings as #1 All-Breed in Utility A, and #1 GSD in Utility A/B. Hondo certified wilderness SAR dog. In other words - thanks Mandy for being so helpful in allowing me the use of your stud dog, and being so helpful in the process. And thanks Christie from Adelhaus, for being ABSOLUTELY reliable and professional in all dealings between Eichenluft and Adelhaus. Christi (adelhaus) is a very nice woman. I had the chance of talking to her ( over email) and she is very nice. I strongly recommend her.

The internet has made it easy for people with vendettas to defame other breeders. At the same time, it has made it difficult for breeders and buyers on the receiving end of libel/slander to effectively counter claims made against them. That is, unless they wish to engage in the same online nastiness, which only brings you down to the same low level. To be sure, forums such as this one can be useful for those who have been "taken for a ride." The main purpose I would see in this situation would be to learn more about what to look for or avoid the next time. I don't believe that most people who badmouth breeders or dogs on this forum are really trying to "help" buyers.......call me cynical, but I just don't see it. I have found, however, that happy clients (and good breeders) generally are not spending their time one the internet just waiting to applaud their dog's breeder or defend their kennel. Maybe this is because they have better things to do...like be with their dogs. It is interesting that many people complain about how negative GSD breeders are about each other, and then some of the same people actually wonder why ....when they actively engage in and support this negativity themselves. I have heard nothing bad about Adelhaus Kennels. If I did I would not repeat it, as it would be gossip and none of my business. I do assume, however, that Adelhaus is a fine breeder/kennel. I will assume that until I personally have reason to believe otherwise. If that situation were to occur, you would still not see me on this board posting about it. That is not the way to "help" a potential puppy buyer. I will stick to the constructive ways of helping pup buyers....asking what they are looking for in a pup and trying to assist them in ways to find that pup. Good luck with your ADELHAUS pup, Wolf!!
