4pack

No kidding Jeff. All jokes aside who cares if this person wants a huge dog, should be plenty of oversized dogs, nobody else wants to touch to chose from. Try contacting Videx Kennels. Just don't breed the damn monster! Enjoy your big dog, just don't make more.

You right 4pack, just don't breed him, but weather you like it or not, in many breedings you will find that one that is just huge :) I like the dog that I saw he was big, would I breed him? No Way, His head was like lion's lol every time I looked in his eyes I was like "Please don't eat me lol and I am 6'3, he still look big to me" lol.

Moon's thanks I think I will use it :)

I owned a 29-30' tall at the withers male from East German lines, a grandson of David Nebelholz (Don Roalndsteich son).  He did world competition level protection according to my trainer at the time, and he of all people would know.  Sadly, I was not a world competition level handler.

Royalair, by the way, has dogs descended from Don Rolandsteich and David Nebelholz.  Some of the original Shiloh breeding came from David Nebelholz.

There were many super "Grob" DDR dogs, when the wall came down. The SV came in, they were kicked out of the gene pool.

That needlessly shrunk the gene pool IMHO.  I also believe that some of the giant types are superior in many ways.  Genes come in baskets, sometimes when you eliminate something you consider undesireable, good things go bye bye too.

In my opinion, a tall, well put together, substantial shepherd is an extremely good visual crime deterrent.  I was not looking to be on any podium or have lots of "ribbons".

When I got my dog I was looking for a crime deterrent that would be full grown by the time the looser who threatened to kill me got out of prison,  He wanted to kill me, he wrote it on the wall in his cell, because my husband was the one who put him there. The Sheriff's department took it seriously enough to give me pictures of the violent criminal and what he wrote.

Most of the public feels the same way about what they want in a familly protection dog.  So, many here may enjoy sneering and ridiculing anyone who is looking for a larger sized GSD, but then most of the puppies you sell go to those very homes.

It was the SV, the same people who brought us roached banana backs with long narrow muzzles, who shrunk the DDR dog.

Very interesting, Pharoh! I didn't know that about the Shilohs. Now I know why Tina recommends Royalair to anyone who wants a large dog, but doesn't want to go outside the GSD breed.
