I was wondering if anyone out there could help find a schutzhund trainer and what to look for in one? I know many years of experience are on this board and thought you would help.....I'm just getting involved "more seriously" as opposed to just being a spectator and also wondered (for my son) as well as myself in the shows what is required of the puppy classes to obtain vp or p etc????? Thank you for your time and help...I appreciate it greatly.....also any good books out there regarding training for schutzhund?

Well a suburb of Dallas Texas but I want a good reputable trainer and am willing to ship outside of U.S.A. if necessary. I know I have to be careful....and will!

Have you looked under "DVG" or USA (United Schutzhund Clubs of America)?...You can search and find a Schutzhund club by you that you might get help and determine exactly what your dealing with...your right in trying to get someone else to do the work if you don't have the time or can gain help in learning exactly what it is that you search for...Then begin looking around and asking around for someone that meets your requirements...How old is your dog and what exactly is it that you are looking for?...Are you looking to show in conformation or just the Schutzhund and working trials...?

Mostly show/confirmation but would like her titled. The female( a VA Hill daughter) is now approx 7 months old and I would like to gain a little experience by putting her in this year's 2005 U.S.A. Seiger Show. Thanks for your interest. Dan

I forgot their is a local club and I plan to go their but I believe they will train with you not for you.

also I thought an experienced trainer/handler would give her a much better chance than a novice like myself .. I will show in puppy classes etc...but want a real professional fot the schutzhund work and then I can learn and keep her sharp by practicing with her as I will need to know as well.

Hi Sportstuff, I'm in Dallas as well and know a couple of trainers--if you will post your email address or phone I will get in touch with you. As a matter of fact, there was a trial here last weekend. Julia
