I would not consider a single dog in that ring breedworthy. Pet quality, all of them. Poorly ring trained, as none of them, especially the first dog, could move properly at all. I saw one fat dog, a roach backed dog, and the last dog's back end was reprehensible.  There is no excuse at any age, any stage of developement for hocks that weak. This coming from a "showline" person.

Having watched the video and looked at the results for the Manchester show - it looks like the video is made from bits and pieces from different classes.

I have watched the video several times .....
ok it wasn't the best surface BUT even standing still the dogs look dreadful.
my working line dogs wouldn't look like that on a glass floor!!!
such a shame and I would assume some of these dogs will be bred from, sad....
the shows I have visited were pretty much the same, full of frog dogs
AND I GOT FROWNED AT for taking my puppy's in LMFAO I only took them to socialise them and have a laugh.
we got laughed  and tutted at.... we got last.

I really wanted a show line at some point but nah think I will stick with my UGLY working lines lol
 is she that bad????

Liebe, it's only about 4 dogs, out of...?  I started to reply on this thread so many times last night, but the truth is that those dogs looked unsound... I know about the surface, I know that pulling too hard into their collars, does no favours, I know that training would have been beneficial, I know that very FEW dogs are so closely scrutinized by close up camera shots, (maybe they should be) but I felt very sad and I had no defence to offer.

I know how you feel.  I only posted the info about it being a mix of classes as people were asking.

However I would like to see the whole footage before they pieced together the poor bits - there is no idea if the dogs looked sounder at any time.   It would alo be interesting to see what the dogs movement is like when there is no pressure on the collar.

Thank you Liebe.  Having watched it a few more times, I think you're correct... and I agree with your comments.

Tigermouse, lovely dog.  Correct, non exaggerated construction.

tigermouse: she is certainly nowhere near show quality. However you clearly get comfort on here, and "middle of the road" is the regular comment from those with average GSD. Exceptional and star quality is out of reach for the majority, so the majority enjoy knocking the few, it makes them feel better about their own. Ahhh.

Oh yes, have to agree with David in that she isn't show quality... however, this doesn't mean that she's not of correct construction according to the standard.
