Robert Forker of Shooterk9@bellsouth.net   has a superb male he purchased from me a few years ago.  This wonderful male is indeed black and has excellent hips, we have his hip xray on file and has produced good hips.  Kascha is a beautiful dog, great substance and sound structure.

He is by Olymp Policia x Gimi ,  both on my website at www.westwoodkennels.com     Both parents are well known producers for working, sound temperment and excellent hip production.

Robert also does an outstanding job taking care of dogs.  I hope you get a chance to meet.

I have Hill, black male here by Norbo Ben Ju but generally only breed him to those who are breeding for titled or police working dogs as he is a socially aggressive male.  Robert's male, Kasha, has excellent nerve, strong and confident too.  He can easily also produce titled and police working dogs.

thanks and good luck!
Nancy

So, have you made your choice?

No choices made.
Have hopes of looking at a couple on the ground once the weather gets a bit nicer.
I have spoken to some really nice people with great dogs its encouraging.
Thanks for asking,
Moons.

4pack...no, not yet. I will soon, probably shortly before or after Capri gets here. I don't breed the dogs I have (or haven't yet, anyway). I will definitely keep you posted though;-) Sid belongs to Larry Filo; I linked to Sid b/c he's Snoopy's littermate, and Snoopy is Capri's sire. I was encouraged to see someone seeing enough value in these dogs to have 2 littermates...esp. two 9 year old littermates w/respective zw scores of 68 and 72 after so many litters.

Pia, thank you very much. Naturally, I think he's awesome...but that's partly b/c I am lucky enough to live with him; his temperament is my ideal. He is slightly too large for the standard, but it doesn't stop him from doing anything the smaller dogs do; he maneuvers his large body extremely well. Don't get me started on that dog...I could go on and on forever about how much I love him.

Onyx, I think you meant to ask when Capri is getting here. The answer is I don't know. She won't be 2 until 3-26, so she'll need to be breed surveyed and get her V. I'd rather have her KKL1 and V before she gets here. I know I could do it here...but I'm a bit discouraged w/some of the judging in our neck of the woods. Then, I still would like to have her bred before shipping. It's probably my only chance (realistically) to have a pink papered litter and use the stud(s) I'm considering.

Thanks for your nice words about Caleb and Qira. Qira is 14mos now and VERY promising. I just added a few pics of her in her gallery. She has a bit shorter fuse than many males, which I really like; this girl doesn't take any crap, LOL. She is calm in the house and very stable.  I thank Steve Lino for both Qira and Capri.

Is Caleb titled?  Hips & Elbows?  He is soooooooooooouloo beautiful.  So many Dargo offspring did not get much of daddy.  It's like you won the lottery.

Thanks, Pharoah. From what I have been able to gather about Dargo, Caleb is as much like him as anything he's produced. I have met Caleb's dam, and besides an obsession with water (and not sharing it), he certainly didn't inherit much from her. She's short, dark sable, and kind of hectic. TOTAL OPPOSITE!

Caleb has never done any sport training.  At 5, I am  satisfied with him and his reliability in PP. Someone would have to be on PCP to decide to call his bluff, and I am also happy with his performance when someone does decide to escalate a fight w/him.  I don't think training ever ends,  and I trust NOTHING 100%,  but have seen him in enough situations to feel confident in trusting his judgment in a real situation. I was fortunate enough to have help from someone bold (or stupid) enough (if you're reading this, thanks, Best Friend)  to make training as real as possible- surprise scenarios (some were even a surprise to me, which changes the whole dynamic), no equipment or a hidden sleeve, etc.

He could be titled, certainly, but he's not your prey monster, flashy OB kind of dog that judges "wow" over lately. Which is exactly why I like him. I honestly don't want to get him in that "bitework is a game" mentality at this point, if that would even be possible with him, which I kind of doubt.

I have never bred Caleb,  although sometimes I look around at what's become of the GSD and wonder why not, LOL. Yes, he has both hips and elbows. Oh, you mean were they x-rayed? . Yes, he's been xrayed. I actually never sent them into OFA, since I don't breed him and I know enough to look at them and evaluate them myself. I may send them in one of these days. He certainly gets a lot of attention and I've been getting a lot of messages asking about him...but I'm truly not sure he's the kind of dog people want. He's the kind of dog *I* want...but so many people prefer the over-the-top prey and no defense that I worry about what happens when their puppy grows up to be like Caleb, and doesn't see everything as a game. I am so paranoid about what kind of life any puppy I produce will have that I've never had the nerve to dive in and breed until now, which is why I'm importing Capri. Additionally, he is oversized (so he wouldn't do so hot on a breed survey-though I think he'd go SG if we got the right judge who didn't hate black dogs). He is almost 27" tall and a VERY lean 96lbs. He should probably weigh between 100-110, but I keep him so thin b/c he's a houdini who is jumping something if he can't figure his way out of it and I worry about him wearing on his joints, as big as he is.

Anyway, sorry to derail Two Moons' thread...but I tend to get carried away when talking about my Caleb.

Jenn78,

Don't waste this precious bloodline and such a stellar example of a type that is so hard to find now.

If you do nothing else, get his OFA ASAP.  He will be judged as a 5 year old unless you can have your vet send in the existing xrays.  He is too precious to be treated like a mutt or a BYB dog.

I would love to have a puppy from him, he is so beautiful and very much like my dog Shadow who died in 2006 at 13 years old.  I can live without the titles but not registration and OFA hips and elbows.

Michele
