I did hips at one year and checked thyroid and other blood parameter for disease on my one breeding female.  I will admit, I did not do elbows on my breeding bitch yet, as they were not required at the time she was first breed.  Considering how she jumps and uses her legs, I am not overworried she will not pass.

Can't tell about the LC gene until/if she produces more puppies, but so far none.

I agree, the health and temperment of the breed should come first, before titles, color ect.  But there is more than just hips and elbows, there is EPI, Van Wildenbrants, heart issues, fistulas ect.   Color, Coat and use of the dog is an individual preference.  The issue here: is that breeder just breeding to have pups to sell as a designer option?

There is just so much more to the GSD than manwork.  Full grips are not appreciated by shepherders, the blind or someone trapped in rubble!  I think there is as much if not more pride in a dog that finds a lost child and comforts him or her as there is in the dog the captures the criminal.  The theory is a dog that can do both.  I think there needs to be more emphisas on the other phases of sch work.

Ok I'll vent ... ... here's my complain letter for the day.   LOL   Nice thread raymond.  :o)~

Stop the So-Called Obama “Stimulus” Bill!

Enough is enough. The American people are sick. When it comes to solving our nation's economic woes, throwing billions of our taxpayer money at every liberal pet project under the sun won't work! And yet, some of our elected, instead of killing this evil legislation are trying to amend it… fix it… tinker with it… .

Let me be perfectly clear. The American people do not want you to amend this legislation. The American people do not want alternative proposals. The American people do not want you to make a deal. The American people do not want you to compromise the future of our children. Do not try to “fix” this fraudulent stimulus package, get rid of it for good. Do not attempt to put any amount of lipstick on this pig. The American people want this legislation DEAD… PERIOD… END OF SENTENCE!

Stand firm against this so-called Stimulus package. The American people want results, not smoke and mirrors. Stand firm against this Obama economic stimulus scam. You have the votes to kill it! Do it now!

I cannot believe we elected you people and you don't even obey your oath of office to protect and defend this Constitution. This is one sad day in America and ya'll know it. Look what your doing to this country !!!! For Gods sake, get your head outta yo arse and do right for your country, your supposed to represent us. Please refer to Peter Schiff and Ron Paul for America's Republic point of view. I pledge allegiance to the Flag, of the United States of America, and to the REPUBLIC for which it stands .....

Three adult bald eagles visited yesterday following the Ohio down stream.   I thought of you baby.
I must admit I am disappointed already with Mr. Obama, but no more than the poltics as usual in  the house and senate.
What else is new.

I'm just as fed up with the hypocracy and norrow minded tunnel vision of some in the dog world.

Mostly I tired of winter.

2Moons,

The sun shone bright yesterday, temp in the 50's and melted all the snow! Unfortunately, now that I can actually see all the dog poo that needs to be picked up, the mucky mud puddles, and grimey sand everywhere that tracks into the home, I'm praying for another covering of clean, white snow.

I'm back to shoveling it too.
Revolving dogs in the kennels with one in heat.  Mud, mud , MUD !!!!  I hate the damned MUD !!
Its not much easier to walk in than skating on the ice, just easier on my ass if I slip.

Mud and dog sh!t, now there is something to complain about!  I always hated this time of year when I was in college most, I worked at a kennel that had 34 runs, indoor and out.  When it snowed, we just shoveled it all into a pile at the end of the runs, clearing the side walks,  every spring, we had to get the resulting crap picked up when the piles melted.    Made defrosting water buckets on a daily basis and chipping urine off the cement seem like heaven.
