I’ve decide hating Obama is too hard. All the media says Obama is super awesome so it just seems like I’m missing something. Maybe we should all try liking Obama for a change.

Well, I’m going to start. From now on, I’m going to like Obama and think how great he is.

AHH! MY BRAIN IS LEAKINGOUT MY EARS! ...........DON’T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't care what color the President's skin is, either...

I would also like to know how he is qualified to lead this country, if indeed he is.  I don't believe he is.  He is inexperienced, that's for sure, having not even spent a full term in the Senate for a political background.

I like the above analogy concerning planes and having qualified pilots...to me, electing Obama is like having a 5 year old pilot on a 747.  McCain would have been more like having a blind 90 year old pilot...Neither was a good choice.  In fact, if I'd had my way, we wouldn't have bothered with an election; there were no qualified people in the race.

As to the above remark about politics not having a place on this board...although this board is about GSDs, the fact is, politicians in power over the people are in a position to hurt dog owners and all other citizens.  There are a ton of what ifs that could be brought up, but Obama's record so far speaks for itself.

He's managed to make us the laughingstock of the world.  We, the people of the United States, are now paying for abortions in other countries.  I don't believe in abortion, except under selected circumstances of rape or incest, and I surely don't think that beleaguered American taxpayers should be paying for them in third world countries.  Socialism is the biggest obstacle to success that there is.  It's great until you run out of other people's money.

I'm sorry that liberals believe that all should benefit from the hard work of a few, but that's not the way a successful society functions.  I work hard, to make a good living and do well for my family.  Everything additional that I make should not be stolen from me by a government that did not work for it, and then given to those who would not work for it.  If there is no incentive to work hard (ie, savings, wealth, etc) then no one will work hard.  What's the point?  You either work hard, save for yourself, and make something of yourself, or you are simply a burden to society.  No work, no eat.  You don't get to have because I worked.  That's not the way this country was founded.

I fear for the future of this country.  Morality, decency, hard work, and values are being legislated to the point now that they are nearly non existent, and if you have strong feelings on an issue, you're a racist, a bigot, a gay hater, a--dare I say it--REPUBLICAN!!!!  Can't even call 9-11 an act of TERRORISM anymore, because Mr. Obama calls them now, 'man made disasters'.  Come on, people!

Sitasmom, you are right.  As the leader of the late, great United States of America, Barack Hussein Obama should be as open as are all presidents.  I don't give a blast about what party he pretends to represent.  His entire life, every aspect of his existence should be public record.  He doesn't get to have privacy.  He is answerable to the people.

Liberals are incredibly proud to point out the shortcomings of the last two Bush's to serve as President, and we all know what a loser Clinton was.  Let's see what it is that Obama's hiding.  If he has nothing to be ashamed of, poor disadvantaged boy from the 'hood, then let's see it.  Transparency means exactly that.  If he's got terrorist connections, then he should man up and admit it.  Hiding them only makes him look guilty to those of us not blinded by his phony promises.

Why do people keep throwing the 'this is a dog board card' when they don't like the discussion?!  Oli specifically made this a general discussion board, if you don't like OT's stay on the GSD board, simple as that.
As for Obama, I don't know your president, but secrecy bothers me, if you have nothing to hide, you hide nothing.

There are so many things that are happening right now......

The department of homeland security doesn't have to follow the rules of any other department. They can do as they wish - period. They can and do abuse their powers every day and there is no way of stopping them. Just try to import a dog......

We know more about Joe the Plumber's history then we do about Obama's. To me this is very frightening! Obama promised "transparently" and we have less, much less. He promised less earmarks and pork, and we have more, much more.

The Constitution doesn't stipulate "experience" as a requirement for presidency. It does stipulate Citizenship, natural born citizenship. It also stipulates that any elected official can be "fired" for high crimes and misdemeanors. To understand this phrase the way it was intended, one must go back to England in the 1700 century.......The constitution also states that our elected officials are to uphold the the intent of the document, not to bend it and water it down into something that has no meaning.....

I also work very hard, when the taxes go up, I plan on cashing out, buying a house outright, and going on the doll.  I figure that if I have everything paid off, I can live off of the doll, and find day labor that pays cash when needed. I can will not be spending 45 or 60 hours at the office every week, I will have much more time to spent with my children and dogs........The government can pay for my kids' college, and medical care, and school lunches and everything else....No reason to bust my butt for someone else. ...I'm tired.

I'm from his supposed "Home State", and prior to his candidacy announcement, I had never heard of Barrack Obama.  Why?  Where I have a problem is with his lack of experience and qualification.  Haven't we already seen an example of this with the AIG debacle?  How many millions did that blunder cost the taxpayers?  Wasn't a huge part of his platform to bring all of our military home?  HE SENT MORE!!!!!  That's odd.  No politician that I know of from Illinois deserves to hold any position above bus driver (my apologies to anyone who drives a bus, that's not meant to insult you), considering that 4 of our last 8 Governors went to jail and our last one has a jail sentence upcoming.  Funny that Obama is connected to that small oversight as well.  Now some of you are going to blame the problems in the Middle East on the last two administrations but let us remember that Oliver North warned Bill Clinton about the evil that is Osama Bin Laden and he ignored it.  Seems he had other priorities like tooting his saxaphone with the always popular and ever so stunning,
Monica Lewinski.

Personally I have no allegiance to any particular party so let's not jump on me for being ultra right wing, I reserve my votes for individuals not blind party loyalty.  As an "individual", I don't care what his skin color is or what party he represents, he is under qualified for the job and so far, his record has proved it.

Wake up Maggie I think I have something to say to you ..   I could not help but say that .LOL          It's politics as always .      No matter who won we were all going to pay one way or the other . Sooner or later . Our fate was sealed long before  Obama was a contender. We just need to learn how to take care of what we can . That  to which is in our control . Build the little back yard bomb shelters and stock up on home grown and bartered goods . If we never need to use it,  just think of the yard sales we can have when the dust settles . Remember to stock up on dog food . One more thing If we do need these little bomb shelters in our back yard . don't answer the door it may just be your neihbors kids out of food before yours and you might be forced to support socialism atleast you might be forced to look it in the face and say no .

wazzup how much in taxes did you pay this past year? i bet you got more then you paid back - you sound like one of those cool aid drinkers to me.

FDR (d came into office. the unemployment rate was 17% when he came in and 12 years later after all the spending and taxing the unemployment rate was 17%. His unchecked taxing and spending didn't do a bit of good. FDR started a tonne of socialist programs that we are still being extorted for today. His acceptance speech "the only thing we have to fear is fear its self" goes on to say that government should redistribute our population, and he wanted to get extra powers from congress to ignore the constitution.......its well worth reading. Stalin would have been proud to have called the speech his own.

Our new president has said more then once he wants be be just like FDR...........

BTW
Wilson(d) came to office during a really bad recession, he cut taxes to businesses and reduced the size of government and withing 2 years the economy was booming.
Regan did the same thing and was responsible for the longest period of economic expansion in the past 100 years.

Bush was a dumb ass who couldn't use a veto pen.............he didn't hold down spending and the economy is in trouble........
