How do you know if you are a redneck?  I believe this list is compliments of Jeff Foxworthy....

1.  *"If you use toothpaste as a salve for wounds."
2.   "Clear up a stuffed nose with Altoids."
3.   "If your computer monitor is up on blocks."
4.   "If you have removed the seats from your car so all the kids can fit in."
5.   "If a toothbrush is a hand me down item."
6.   "If you hose your kids down once a week."
7.   "If you consider roadkill a delicacy."
8.  "If your chief worry in a divorce is who is getting the trailer."
9.  "If when you hit a deer at 65mph, you consider it fast food."
10.  "If when you get married, there are tobacco stains on both sides of the truck."
11.  "Being rich is decided by how many cars you have up on blocks."
12.  "if you own three pit bulls and five Rottweilers."
13.  "If you go to family reunions looking for a date."
14.   "If your favorite entree is Spam barbecued on the grill.

insofar as the stereotype portrays closed minded ignorance - yes, I do... LOL!  (but in reality, I only have a problem with closed minded ignorance overall - in any person OR group)

BabyEagle,

If you're talking about Prez, nope, he's not crazy.  He just has a job to do, and he's doing it.  And some of us can see that that job has nothing to do with benefitting the majority of the American people.

As far as Uglydog...There's probably a lot more truth to his words than anyone wants to admit, since it makes them uncomfortable.  And we should be uncomfortable.  Very much so.  If you're not, then you aren't seeing the big picture.  It's not about being paranoid, it's not about left or right wing, or extremism.

I'm scared for the future.  We now have more debt than can ever be paid back, the feds are printing money as fast as they can load the presses, and our rights are being stripped as fast as Congress and the Prez can strip them.  And as for the first $700 billion...That didn't pass under a Republican or Libertarian Congress...It happened under a Democrat controlled Congress.  Same as now.

I wonder if I can solve my debt problems by incurring more debt...Oh, that's right.  That doesn't work.  Unless you're a Democrat sitting in control of America.

Luv,

There is nothing Redneck about knowing that too much government involvement in the lives of the people is a BAD thing.  And as far as being closed-minded...I'm afraid, based on what I have seen of your posts, that you are, yourself, fairly close-minded.  Open minded doesn't mean swallowing any and all crap sent your way by mass media.  Only fools believe everything they see on mainstream media.  We've known for a very long time that most of TV is hogwash, to use a "redneck" term.

By the way, it is that will, that desire to have freedom, that "redneck' approach to life, that made this country what it was, not too long ago.  Blind or lazy people that were content with the way things were, listening to the government, were the ones my ancestors left behind when they left England all those decades ago.  I bet there were many calling those people all sorts of negative things, and I'd bet it was worse when we fought our war for Independence from England.

Call them (us) rednecks if you must, if it makes you feel superior.  To borrow a line from a song, "You've got to stand for something, or you'll fall for anything."  Need a parachute?

Crys, you're proving my point,  since nothing I have ever posted in any way would indicate I approve of bigger government or mainstream media.  In fact, that in itself is hilarious - thanks for providing more fun for the whole family, LOL!

Carry on...  it's all very entertaining.  :)
