Shelley,

Sounds like you are doing great!  You need to give those friends of your's a hug from all of us for taking such good care of you.  So glad you don't have to walk on eggshells and yes, that would wear a person out!  Think of the tension in your neck and shoulders!  Work it out, shake it off and enjoy your vacation for all it's worth!

I agree with Steph that working with the dogs is the best mental health theraphy there is.  That appears to be one happy dog, very proud of his tracking ability!  It shows in the picture.

Steph,

You are sooooo  making me want to move to Montana!  No bugs?  Hope things are going better in the rescue business.

Ohhhhh, Deb, hurry up and move here so you can HELP!!!!!!!

What a day, 2 more in today....I have too many dogs and not enough crates or kennels, to put the rescue in...4 needing spay/neutered before they can go, my boyfriends old choco lab is not fairing too well, I am taking care of her and his other Brittany because he doesn't have a fenced yard and the old one is senile and keeps disappearing....

The Black Bomb I picked up today, has managed to break out of the back of my pickup, unlocked and tore apart the mechanizm to open and shut the topper door...then I put him in a plastic crate in the house and he tore open the door inwards and got out and peeed all over the house...now I am trying to tie him to a cable in the yard and try to rotate dogs around, so my retired police dog doesn't get to him...all kennels are full and I think he will tear apart the chain link anyhow...
Here is a new photo of him, his head is huge and I think only 1-2 yrs old, not fixed yet...nice dog, friendly, likes other dogs....just lonesome.,..and more coming in this week...... They are going to send me to the funny farm for sure!!!!!

No one chewy is all I can deal with right now .He is my  PPD  I can't figure why some one anyone would give up such a beautiful dog . The inn is full .Or i would take him .He should be easy to place . It seems to be a hard year on dogs and people . I have a 9 year old fat ass rescue.  The dog warden gave her to me  great dog . I had three come back this year . All for people issues not dog issues . I still have one here I need to find a home for .Good dog ,, I wont let him go unless I am sure the new owner will neuter him and keep him forever . No vacation for me this year .

How awful for Steph and so many dogs needing rescue this year.
You sound like you need some more kennel runs Steph.

Two Moons

Steph,
How can you afford and take care of so many animals?
He doesn't look bad at all, and sounds very smart, how is it he came to be with you?
How could you take a vacation with so many animals depending on you for their care?
I have one that must go soon, I would rather she were put down than to worry about how she would be cared for by someone else or what she might have to endure in a shelter.
Not knocking you, just wondering about the logic of the situation.
And the animals themselves.
Moons.
