Steph,

I wish I could move up there and help out.  I wish I was in a position to do something here!  I know of a bitch that had 10 black & bi-color pups that they are now trying to sell.  I've been told they have excellent lines but since I'm not in the market I didn't ask for details.  I just know that they had no good reason to breed the bitch other than to have puppies and most all of them will end up in the shelters soon.  My friend has the full brother to the bitch and she told me these people were nice folks, just stupid.  No the bitch was never x-ray'd and the owner of the stud has a limited registration.  So here we have 10 purebred pups that "could be" registered but most likely never will be on the market for $250.00 and from what I understand may end up being given away because they don't want to deal with them.  Just makes me sick!  I haven't even asked to see them because I know I'll either break down and cry knowing what their future is or I will make a total ass of myself by screaming obscenities at the stupid people.  Steph...I feel your pain.

Oh, Steph,

He's a gorgeous dog!

I was always partial to the males over the females, my first GSD was male.

I would offer to foster and do obedience with him, but my husband and my mother in law would both kill me, and then poor Oakley would be lonely:-)  I always wanted to train and breed top GSDs, but these days, with Oakley around, I'm thinking that maybe I should go into rescue, instead.  Both cost a lot of money, but the rescue lets you help unwanted dogs find good homes.

I should be able to send you some money here pretty soon..Things are looking up.

Oakley is doing wonderfully, Steph.  She's starting to lighten across the back of her shoulders now, and her ears actually stand up sometimes.

I'm posting a new thread for her.

You are an angel to the GSD....

Shelley,

I'm so glad to hear that you are getting some time to rest, relax, and just enjoy life.  It's about time that you were able to do so.  And training with the dogs is probably the best therapy in the world.

Something you said above bothered me...You mentioned that your ex has people monitoring this board...Whoever they are, I hope that there is such a thing as karma, and that what they are doing comes around to bite them in a soft spot.

As much as I know Steph needs help, I cannot go so far as Montana as yet for a number of reasons, most of which anyone who has ever let out on a road trip with little/no advnace prep or warning can easily guess. I expect to stay put for the time being, far enough away to relax and get my head screwed back on, but still close enough to deal with the crap I know is right around the corner when/if needs be, in person. Its not like it would be hard to find my way back to the Holler. Unlike Hansel and Grettel, I have no worries about the birds eating the trail of empty red and white Old Milwaukee cans the natives leave behind on their up and down the hill. Ha ha ha
Ok, so I am not really right around the corner.

Yeah. It sucks somebody hates me enough to monitor this board, and/or paid well enough to perform some basic surveillance on me/mine, (how much? who knows? Who CARES???) Doesn't matter much really. It really doesn't matter if my location is learned now. Cowards don't travel well. + who knows where I will be tomorrow? Hell. I don't even know that! ;-D
Whoever is monitoring this thread for my dear, darling husband, is probably laughing ar him,  or... (WORSE by FAR) feeling sorry for the poor darling as they try to pass on the contents. It would sure suck to have to trade places with either of them, eh?

Its like Auntie Shelley has said so many times over the last 20 years or so (since her first divorce? Ha ha ha):
Best to be very careful, think long and hard about trying to dig up dirt on people close to you.
You might not find what you expect, let alone be happy you found it, in the long run.

Of COURSE I learned that lesson the hard way. Is there any other way? LOL

Hang in there Steph. there has to be a special place in God's heart for you.

Somebody please remind me to brush that dog and stop tucking my shirt so far in in front.
BTW- When was the last time anybody saw me smile that big? Honestly?
Call it my Schutzhund Sport Therapy smile.

Another day or two of training with one of my all-time heros (cleverly cropped out of the picture) and I think we will be ready for a repeat FH1 (domain of the old dog ;-) in the trial coming up.

You look awesome Shelley, glad to see that smile, it is real...

Moons, I usually try to get an adoption fee to help out with the expenses...when I was working, I made good money and spent all the extra on rescuing these guys, out of my pocket...I don't have kids, so the dogs are my kids...
This male is so totally awesome but not a hard dog, he has the sweetest most gentle personality. Just has no manners, we're, working on that...

He was a dumped dog at the shelter in Idaho Falls, ID...there is a volunteer there that calls me whenever they have purebred GSD's in so I go down and get them. About 10 hours round trip, this time there was someone coming up towards me so I only had to travel 3 hours round trip. Not bad...

I really get some nice dogs in here, but that is a topic for another thread, I just need to learn how to write it out...
Later guys, someone coming to look at a dog, have to get ready...
Steph
