I,ve learned "who Bob McKown is" that in it,s self is worth all the drama.

I,ve made some friends "across the pond" so to say

There is good information here some times you just have to blow away the garbage to find it.

That there are still adults who thrive on childish behavior.

That Habanaro needs alittle more off the ears.

That RONNIERUNCO is a man I want to party with.

And  last but not least most of you here are good people.

I too have learned Who Bob McKnown is,
Now how can I use this new knowledge in my daily life?
Bob, if you ran for office I would recognize your name and I would know who to vote for.....:)
I think I'd party with Ronnie too.

I also learn much from Bob McKnown. He shows me what I have long suspected. The wrong dog can cause one's ass to appear overly large.

I now direct all my breeding efforts to correct this fault in the GSD

Also, I like the search function very much. A wealth of info on almost any subject GSD is available.

Well i have to say i have picked up several tips that have been invaluable, learned a lot about W/L dogs too. But i have learned more about people of different cultures, countries, and opinions. Sometimes sickened by the nonsense on here but a lot of the time it is funny, and i just love reading other peoples stories/experiences. There are several people on here that i have never met or ever likely to but i like and admire them. I will not be naming them as there are quite a few and i would hate to leave anyone out. Bob, you are a gem, always up for a laugh and have given me a few in the past ( laugh's i mean, lol) Ronnierunco, what can i say, since your first post i have laughed, you are often the topic of conversation here. But i am not to sure about partying with him, have you seen the state of his kitchen!!!! Oh! and we all know where he gets his food, the dumpsters at restuarants!!!  I have also got to know lots of special people here in the uk, you know who you are. Liz

My first thought was, that this was another dreary thread... then I actually thought about it (a rare event) and realised that I've learned quite a lot!

I too, have made some special friends through this site... that's invaluable imo and as Liz says, "you know who you are".

I've learned that there are some VERY good looking working lines, some of which, I'd be thrilled to have.  Gustav has been a fantastic source of information re: working / show lines and breeding... I wish Gustav lived near me!

Slamdunc (Jim) has also been a good source for training tips and he is so "grounded"... I like that!

I've "fought" with Mystere, Sueincc and a few others... but it's ok now and actually, they too, have shared some good tips and some good laughs!

Of course there are some real pillocks and weirdos that post on here too... part of the rich tapestry of life I guess, I now simply avoid their threads.

All in all, it's pretty ok on here and I've gained some very useful information... thank you Oli.

I'm new here (again) after a year. I didnt have a computer and forgot my password, I don't have my old email address either... but anyway I used to go by TexasLady217... I learned a LOT here and everyone was always cool with me about my million questions.... BUT I also lurked for a long time before posting so I would learn to WORD my posts properly and not get nailed.

I learned many confidence building exercises, and a lot of training tips. Though I planned on joining a SchH club 2 YEARS ago when I got my first boy, Galan, some things happened in my life where I couldn't bring him the 2 hours 1 way trip. I applied everything I learned here to his "back yard"  training.
Well, FINALLY I found a club to work with in my new state. Today was our first time out together. Although we have a lot to learn and work on, I was congratulated on my dog. I was told he did extremely well and that he's very smart and a quick learner. They teased me about hurrying up and working toward getting his BH in December when they have another trail
.

So yes I HAVE learned a lot here and once you sift through the b.s.ers, there are some very kind, compassionate and downright decent people on here who are willing to help anyone with an open mind and a desire to LEARN.

I, too, have learned a lot here.

I have learned about WL GSDs, which I never knew anything about.  I have learned about the showlines dogs.  I have learned about colors, coats, and other things I knew little about.

I have met many wonderful people here, some of which I have been corresponding with privately, off board.  The people I have met here that I consider to be friends include YellowRose, JRansom, DebiSue, Bob McKown, and many others.

I have learned that Ronnie is a real character, always to be counted on for a good laugh, always managing to post funny pics that aren't quite immoral...:-)

Most of all, I have learned that there is much to learn, that each person has his views, and that, despite political and philisophical differences, most of the people here are passionate about the GSD, and will always pull together for the benefit of the breed.

I have learned that we laugh together about the funnies our dogs do, and our families, and that we cry together when we lose one of our own.  We band together to offer what support we can when a member needs it.  And that there are always open doors when someone needs a place to land, like dear Shelley.

I have learned that GSD people, regardless of their achievements on the field and in the ring, are mostly down to earth people dedicated to a breed of dog that, while only a little over a hundred years old, is nonetheless a special breed to all of us.

That's what I have learned.

....if you are willing to sift through all the "drama," there truely is some very good information to absorb.  There are very few that are looking to help the breeders, owners and rookies (like myself) alike.  I learned QUICKLY that you have to let some things just roll off your back and sometimes you have to stand up and "fight."  All in all I wouldn't come here to ask a question again unless I have my "shit kickers" on.

I think this is one of the coolest GSD sites on the web.  Thanks Oli.  Not only have I earned a lot about asfvanced training and reading my dog, I have also learned to be thick skinned and also a lot about individual dogs themselves by people who have known these dogs and they're not just names on a pedigree.  Thanks everyone..................
